The Random, Meaningless Announcements Thread 3!

It's a very lovely day out (83 degrees fahrenheit and kind of breezy - not too humid).

    Crisis of Faith

I found myself in a similar situation to yours (albeit not 100% the same). I won't go into great detail but ultimately I found myself with a similar pull to Catholicism. Dreams, other signs, and just a general interest. I came from a relatively secular Catholic family but I considered myself...

    Ethical Philosophy Quiz

I got 100% Aquinas followed by St. Augustine at 89%. Not too surprised honestly.

Would you want a pagan temple?

I think simple temples that are built in a way that is respectful to the landscape would be great. Preferably open air, lots of light, nothing to grandiose. The image that comes to my head is a small open air circular building made of natural materials with perhaps a pool of fresh water in the...

    Check your privilege

    44. Mainly because of gender and sexuality and probably a bit because of religious views.

    What are you currently playing?

Anyone else get hooked on Overwatch during the open beta weekend? Normally I'm an open world RPG kinda person but Blizzard did a really great job creating a mix of MOBA and FPS imo.

    Beyond Lost

Thank you for all the input. And allfoak that was very well put. I guess I have the problem of being attracted a religions culture and aesthetic without really minding about the theological concepts. I practiced Shintoism for a while and really enjoyed the practice, I lived in Japan for a...

    Beyond Lost

Hello! I'm back (for those that remember my brief time here) Anyways Im not entirely sure if this would fit here but I needed to vent my feelings a bit and hopefully get some advice. So my beliefs have been all over the place really. For starters I am a theist but I'm not sure what kind. I...

I'm glad (: it's a very interesting faith. It varies from area to area and its very lax despite its age and roots in tradition - also look into it's smaller newer sects. Tenrikyo and Konkokyo definitely deserve some looking into for anybody interested by religion.

    Altars

This is my Kamidana. I haven't really been able to bring myself to do anything with it in a while; I disposed of last years Ofuda but haven't purchased a new one just because I feel like it'd be disrespectful to put up a new one and do nothing but let it sit. Anyways; its more or less a home...

    Fave Anime

Probably a tie between Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann. Project K is also super good.

    What are you currently playing?

League of Legends mostly, the changes coming this pre-season are going to be interesting to say the least.

Are you here to only hear what you want to hear ?.

No, the reason we have DIRs is for like minded discussion, likewise there are sections that allow multi faith debate of a topic. For example, if you have a questions say about the practice of a certain sect of a religion, say like the practice of Sunni Muslims, you'd find a valid and trustworthy...

What are your favorite "Pagan" religions?

I have an obvious bias for Shinto, its a lovely tradition and I know a lot of people who practice it (both Japanese and Non-Japanese). Other than that Asatru is intriguing. The Eddas are a really good read.
