so jim jones, a guy who says he loved and believed in Jesus and yet used drugs and killed 700 plus people, he is ok but a Buddhist who lives his entire life according to what Jesus taught, will be punished forever and ever in hell?
i made a change on that, the prejudice i am referring to comes from my own faith and culture of what i was taught growing up. it was not meant to be directed at anyone here.
im sorry if i offended anyone with this question. i did not realize it was such a controversial taboo thing to ask. i grew up in the rural south, there is not a Jewish person in 50 miles of me. i was told all my life Jews were wrong, their teachings are wrong dont listen to anything they say...
i wasnt offering insight on anything i was asking a question about Judaism in the "Do you have questions about Traditional Judaism" thread. for some reason i was thinking thats what this thread was for.
can someone please explain exactly what this thread is for?
sorry im still getting used to this, so confusing with all the debate and non debate zones. i was under the impression that message boards generally were a place to debate things.
please move to where ever it needs to go.
you ever think it strange that Greeks, Jews, Indians would take their top five percent of their absolute best thinkers and put them to work in the priesthood to study spirituality and the heavens.
where do we put our top minds today, banking, bio tech, marketing and lets not forget military...
Jesus Taught not to murder, He expanded on this teaching by adding not to hate your fellow man. the source teaching "dont murder" was not changed.
would you agree or disagree with this?

Jesus walked on water, called to a disciple, he...
i was taught anything and everything outside anglo - american / non Catholic Christianity was wrong. all my life i knew deep down this was wrong but didnt know how to explain it.
I think Jesus and Buddha came from same source. i follow what Jesus taught. Jesus taught on false teachers, we will...
when i saw the "discuss individual religions" i assumed debates were considered discussing. so all the forums marked "dir" you can not disagree with others?
so can someone move the thread to proper place. i didnt see a Buddhist "debating allowed" forum
sorry im still kinda new here. whats "dir" and what exactly did i do wrong? topics posted here can not be discussed/debated? isnt majority of everything on msg boards debated? or am i crazy.
ohh wow! i cant believe i never saw that. yes your exactly right. i have also read from other traditions that the wise men were 4 holy men from the 4 directions representing the different belief systems.
Jesus taught from the Hebrew bible so it never made sense to me that Jews would reject that. i have always suspected the trinity may have been incorporated to be a divider between Jews and Christians.Constantine hated Jews with a passion, is it a coincidence he was one of the biggest trinity...
how does the spirit of truth vary on ones belief on the trinity? for example is there a passage that says it will only work for those that believe in the trinity?
from my understanding the spirit of truth will remain exactly that even if someone does not fully understand the true nature of the...
