    Is the term "Atheist" redundant?

I heard someone say that the term 'Atheist' is redundant. People are generally labeled based on what they believe in, as opposed to what they don't believe in. For example, someone who believes in Christianity is called a Christian, not an "Islamist rejectionist". Do you think the term...

    Ode To The Atheist

Thank you for the post - I agree - I too enjoy this forum and have learned to be more open-minded and compassionate towards others with different views. And please understand that atheists are not all analytical people who can't see beyond the tangible world. I myself recognize the wonder...

what can a couple do that is really cheap or free?

After reading this thread, my suggestion would be to make a big bowl of popcorn and then invite Dallas and Sunstone over to duke it out, gladiator style, using only their verbal gymnastic skills. That might be pretty entertaining.

Is your belief in God strengthened more by personal experience or by studying Scripture?

I know people with a strong belief in God, and almost no knowledge of scripture. I also know people who are avid atheists that are experts when it comes to one or more religious texts. Just curious - do you feel that your belief in God is strengthened more by scripture or by personal...

Do you feel guilty for your carnal desires?

Ok I guess I'm kind of with you there - I don't often have "carnal" desires - carnal is a strong word, but I do have daydreams every once in a while....I don't feel guilty for that. I just feel HUMAN. :)

Do you feel guilty for your carnal desires?

Sorry Storm - this was said with a smile and was not directed at you or anyone else....just trying to make the point that it is common to have desires that go against what we believe is right....I could have worded it differently

Do you feel guilty for your carnal desires?

I was talking to a friend about this very thing the other day. I have been happily married for 10 years. And I'll never forget something my husband said during our pre-marriage counseling sessions.....we were asked if we saw our partner as our "one true soulmate". Being young and romantic, I...

Given the choice, would you rather be smarter or more attractive?

Of course you can! Wiser is a great choice. As MidnightBlue pointed out, it's probably the best choice. Just being honest though, I would choose porcelain skin and bigger boobs.

"Love thy neighbor" - what conditions are implied in this statement??

Thank you Mister Emu! You did understand what I was asking...which is impressive since it was worded so poorly! This is the second most important commandment in the Bible, second only to loving God. It also seems to be one of the greatest challenges of Christianity - to love your neighbor...
