I see, so it depends on the version/translation of the bible the Christian chooses.
2 Timothy 3.16

16 Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.

Hi Luis
I think so (that could be discussed), Buddhism, Sikhism and Hinduism saves us from samsara.
One could argue "no one" is really being saved, but for the unenlightened there is the perception of a self or being who is suffering and wants their suffering to end (dukkha) i.e. salvation from...
Anger, prejudice and fear are like a virus. The mind only has to come close to them and it too can be contaminated and soiled.
The turning point is when we recognise the 'virus' and do not let ourselves become contaminated. We do have the strength to go against it and do good despite what the...

I think many of us have had to face the topics you raise. It is too early and not necessary to become discouraged.
It is a large topic and I will bullet point some initial reflections:
It goes against the most profound philosophy of the Upanishads to suggest that there is a...
Thanks Vinayaka, for your input.
I liked what you wrote, especially the last part. I think you are right, the fruits will come and so it is wiser to concentrate on living to the best of our ability with the laws of dharma.

What do you think about the idea of practising one or more...
Hi ChristineES
Thanks, Just to be clear, I didn't mean to condemn people during the Crusade (or Christians), my point is that some people probably think that they are helping their religion (what ever it is) by fighting against others and they may get that from films, books or history. Crusades...
It is the people who follow it in my opinion. The same with Islamic terrorism, that goes against the Quran, but they may quote it (out of conext) to support their actions. Sick really, but that is evil in action.
People kill for many reasons. People kill their wives and children here. I think the mind of a killer can justify the victim and the act. I am not sure the answer or solution will lie in the Bible.
Unfortunately.
The man who stated he wants to kill atheists? I wondered if you have replied to him and asked for his justifications, I expect it will be emotive rather than based on scripture. :)
