Why do you feel it is dangerous if what we believe becomes true?
Choices have no inherent quality unless there is a law or teaching which illustrates that one choice is better than another. My point is that choices are just choices, but if we add a law then we have Good choices over Bad...
Honestly I think it is a question of perspective rather than one which is more correct over another. If we still consider ourselves to be individuals with a free will then that is how we will remain.
It is also possible to see everything as God and ultimately God's will. With this stance...
That's interesting Savagewind, I haven't considered will in that way nor the flesh to describe the brain, but that is true.
What would you use to learn to control your will yourself intelligently?
Hi Pegg
Do you mean when your are at church only certain people stand and go forward to take the bread and others stay sat because they know they have not been chosen? I am wondering if it is a personal conviction? If so is that conviction through the Holy Spirit?
I think that doubt arises when we make comparisons. It is better to suck it and see, go for something 100% with an open mind, go to the service, read the scripture and so on as if that were the religion for the rest of your life.
That is the only way I think I would know if it isn't right or...
Hi Savagewind
My impression is that the cause of doubt or misunderstanding is that your friends might think that they are 'flesh'; that they are of the body and so they are destined to sin and be sinners even after accepting Christ as their Saviour. This is why they may still believe they they...
I think it depends on the person, God's will cannot be manipulated to fit around a person's beliefs. You are right.
For exmaple, I cannot continue to believe that committing sins will happen until God stops me because my faith is in God's ability to stop me.
It would be like handing over...
Hi
Like you.
I do not believe the Holy Spirit removes the ability to lie (or lies) from a person. Rather the Holy Spirit is a guide (that is my impression so far).
The discrepancy is probably ignorance or lack of understanding of the teaching of the New Testament. It could even be because...
Hi Savagewind
The above (and the last paragraph) sounds more like the Holy spirit. Would you see it that way too?
My view is that freewill doesn't end, we simply align our will with God's will. We can always fall away from Him, loose faith or become disenechanted and return to our self-will...

Thanks for the reply, URAVIP2ME.
Hi Sojourner
That's interesting. Some Hindus hold the same thing, that everything rests in the soul or Divine Consciousness. I thought the Celts were Catholic or Presbyterian in general?
Hi Sharmana
Thanks, that is a good quote and I would agree, other wise...
Hello URAVIP2ME
Can you clarify this, is there a continuation of the soul or do you mean the body or flesh is what continues with sin?
I am under the impression that both soul and flesh are born afresh.
