Aha. I completely get what you're saying there.
I'm going to have to go back through the thread and read the rest of the replies tomorrow. I'm curious to see what kind of suggestions people have offered up, because I can't come up with a good reason for you!
I know exactly how you feel.
You shut a door. You're kind of trapped-- before, you had options, but now you're "stuck" somewhere. Even though you decided to stay because you were happy, you're scared it wasn't the right choice. It's kind of a "the grass is greener on the other side"...
I voted yes, but I think I change my mind.
Condoms should always be easily accessible. I worry, though, that if the pill and other such birth control was available without a prescription that less people would use condoms and STDs would spread more. Perhaps the rate of unwanted pregnancies...
I think what should be important is the attempts-- not who succeeds more. I'd be interested in seeing the statistic for overall suicide attempts...
Teenagers are very... dramatic. Even teens with severe issues, maybe problems bad enough that you could understand them being suicidal, use...
I like words. I like words that aren't often used, even if the meaning is known (indubitably, superfluous)... and words with lesser known meanings (defenestration). Some words, I just like how they sound, or how they look, or I like the combination of letters.
I stumbled upon "verecund" a...
I think it depends on a number of different factors, particularly the severity of the disorder and the individual person in question.
Two examples:
My brother has Asperger's and smoked pot on a regular basis. It didn't help him at all. Oh, sure, he got high... but it didn't improve his...
I might be repeating something already said, so forgive me if that is the case...
But belief isn't exactly a choice. Some people feel pressured into religion, pressured to claim they believe in a god as strongly as the community around them does. I stopped believing in God when I was nine...
Hi lava :) Thanks!
Too bad :( I hope you get some spring-like weather soon! (In my travels, I've only spent two days in your lovely country, and didn't personally experience it... but I've heard rainy might as well be considered a season in England!)
Much like a belated birthday present, a...
I can't seem to drink plain ol' hot coffee-- caffeine actually does nothing for me, and if something doesn't taste good, I can't drink it. I like White Mochas or Iced Lattes. I'm all about the sweet stuff.
...I didn't realize there was a way to drink coffee "like a man". O.o
I'm not much of a beer gal, but I actually do like Blue Moon's Belgian White. It's tasty.
I visited the Sam Adams brewery not too long ago... they give out samples at the end, and I discovered I'm not a fan. Sad, really, that I couldn't like the free beer.
I went out to dinner with my mom tonight... it's kind of pathetic: the two of us can't even eat a whole meal! We had a dinner plate with steak tips, chicken, fries, and mashed potatoes. Frozen mudslides for dessert.:eat: Tasty, tasty meal.
*hug* I feel ya. My school is kind of a joke... the few papers I've had to write weren't exactly difficult. I think my longest paper, so far, was five pages. The key to getting to that length without burning out is: 1. Choosing a topic broad enough to actually write that much about, and 2...
My father has this little thing he likes to say: "You'll get mugged, raped, killed-- or worse!" We live in a very safe town and he panics because we often forget to lock our door. I also lived in a couple bigger cities and managed to avoid harm... but my apartments were always on the third...
No questions for you yet? I'll be obnoxious and help out ;)
So your religious beliefs change... do you have a God or gods that you believe in? Or is that one of the things that changes too?
When will you finish college? What do you want to do after?
Since your parents aren't originally...
