"The secret of modern propaganda is to simplify a complex issue and repeat that simplification over and over again until even the least intellectually gifted can understand it"

The relevance to this discussion being what exactly? I repeat, nobody disputes that Trump's Twitter posts emanate from him, do they?

So nobody, actually, needs to be a credulous idiot succumbing to propaganda in order to come to fairly obvious conclusions - for themselves - about Trump. These media stories merely serve to corroborate one's own judgement and flesh it out with examples.

That doesn't come anywhere close to addressing my point.

I'm a little surprised a Trump supporter would quote this.

This sort of destructive propaganda is what Trump excels at. He doesn't have a plan for improving the cost/benefit results of the USA Healthcare system. So he just hammers Obamacare is socialism!
He has no clue about the problems the USA created by giving millions of jobs to immigrants, but refused to give them papers. So Immigrants are stealing jobs because they're criminals!
Etc.
Etc.
Trump is a master of the sort of deceit Hippler is referring to, and his supporters are the sort of dupes who accept it.

How many stories have had to be retracted and apologized for? There is a reason there is very little trust in the media.

My whole point - which you are pretending to be too stupid to comprehend - is that one does not need to rely on the media. Trump's own tweets provide the primary evidence.

Your subjective interpretations (maybe even guided interpretations) of a few lines of someone else's tweets are relevative to your mindset, it is after all just your opinion which is not a universal fact. To claim someone else is or is pretending to be stupid because they don't accept your personal opinion as a universal fact speaks to a different pathos.

A few lines? The guy has Twitter diarrhoea.

And yes it would be stupid if you fail to understand, after I have made the point three times, that a person can make his own mind up about Trump without relying on the media, thanks to Trump's own tweets.

By the way you might want to look up the meaning of pathos.

You tell us - how many? By what outlets?

There is a reason there is very little trust in the media.

Are the stories of Trump demeaning...
Cruz
Rubio
McCain
GoldStar mother
Autistic reporter

...Fake News?

Are the reports of the Helsinki debacle Fake News?

Are the reports of the failed discussions with NK Fake News?

The only ones who think the media is Fake News are the Trump Sheeples who have been fed a steady stream of propaganda by Trump from day one.

The first thing any wannabe dictator does is diminish the press. If this was a third world country, he would have shut down all media except Fox and you would be cheering in the streets.

Yep. As an example, I watched an edition of Fox news yesterday morning, and they spent no more than about 5 minutes on the NYT piece, and most of that covered the issue of which "coward" wrote it? As far as the substance of that five minutes, less than one minute pertained to what the letter actually contained. Is it any wonder why some seem to not much know what's going on and yet think they do? This is by no means the only time I've seen them do this, btw.

Trump isn't stupid because he doesn't accept this view or fact, he's a bloody idiotic baffoon because he says thinks like "nobody knew how hard health care is," when he tries to issue military orders via Twitter, flip-flops on agreements he just signed, and for insisting a wall is what we need and will work even though a wall won't work and Border Patrol themselves don't want a wall and would prefer higher-tech, more modern, and more effective (and less costly) surveillance means.

I will compile a list and make a thread about the retracted stories in the near future (a week or so) it deserves it's own thread. The author of the anonymous op ed will soon be revealed, it is only a matter of time.
As far as the rest of your post, it is pure rubbish.

The media retracts stories and makes corrections when they get things wrong because they really are dedicated to telling the truth and getting things right. In the words of the Donald, “this is a good thing, not a bad thing”.

The garbage that sits in the Oval Office at the moment on the other hand does not make corrections or retractions. The Dumpster will either double down on his lies, or contradict himself without acknowledging the conflict. Often he will even do both these things.

I don't watch FOX news myself but I do check in on MSNBC every once in a while to see what they are up to, their formulae sounds similar to what you are describing but with a different political agenda to stroke.

You will get your chance to attempt to change this with your vote in 2020 if you are a U.S. citizen.

Since I'm retired and have the time to scour that various news channels, there simply is not much of a comparison between Fox and MSNBC, and I'm not saying this as any kind of personal bias.
