I came across this article the other day from one of my friends on FB. I was not really sure what to think of it other than I think it might be satire (I hope it is satire), but I am not entirely sure. So I thought I would share it.

In most cases, misogynists do not even know that they hate women. Misogyny is typically an unconscious hatred that men form early in life, often as a result of a trauma involving a female figure they trusted.

So does this mean misogyny is actually the fault of women?

Women haters (unconsciously) get off on treating women badly. Every time they can put down a woman or hurt her feelings, they unconsciously feel good because deep down in their hidden brain, their bad behavior is rewarded with a dose of the pleasure chemical dopamine—which makes them want to repeat the behavior again and again.

So how many misogynists can you spot in a day?

Interesting article......because misogynists often don't know they're misogynists, we must depend upon social justice warriors to identify them. And the misogynists's lack of awareness would make it impossible for them to deny their state. It behaves much like "privilege". (I should know....I've been declared both privileged & a misogynist.....racist too!)

I tend to be suspicious that any man who takes a lot of care of his appearance and can charm women easily is a bit dodgy. But that's jealousy I suppose.

Unsure, although based on the behaviors described in the article, most of them probably wouldn't qualify for membership in the He Man Woman Haters Club.

This article kinda made me laugh, because it's not just describing a misogynist, it seems to be describing a bad person in general.

Also, a lot of that list is centered around dates...did the writer have a few bad experiences?

Nope. She seems like the real deal. No sign of Onions or bacon, for that matter.

Identifying it is easy, everything is sexist/racist/homophobic. The hard part is rationalizing it. It's the new "white man's burden," but now it's the "upper middle-class white females burden."

That's true too. Stuff like body issues women have, they don't stress about that stuff to impress men, that's to impress other women. Men don't care about your thigh gap or muffin top or whatever the current body issue trend is. Look up mugshots of prostitues. Those are people men would pay to be with. If they want to impress men, that's the standard to go by, not whoever is on the cover of cosmo. All that photoshoping is for women, not men.

I've always thought it was easy to spot them. Having negative views of women, saying degrading things about them, and seeing them as less capable than men tend to be dead giveaways. If someone is known for insisting women are inferior because they are women, you aren't exactly talking to someone who believes in an egalitarian approach.

The second one is commonly used to describe someone with borderline personality disorder. I've never heard of it being used to describe a misogynist before this.

Lots of men are very concerned about a woman's appearance. Women are bombarded with pressure from a bunch of different sources to maintain a minimum appearance. Advertisement is a major one.

Look up mugshots of prostitues. Those are people men would pay to be with.

If they are mugshots of prostitutes, chances are very good they are a street walker working in a dangerous area, and possibly drug addicted. And, of course, you can find prostitutes of many ethnicities and body types. And lots of prostitutes, probably most, do not have any mugshots or criminal records.

If they want to impress men, that's the standard to go by, not whoever is on the cover of cosmo. All that photoshoping is for women, not men.

The photo shopping is for everyone, and it's in far more places than just Cosmo. Even billboards that are seen by hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people each and everyday feature photo shopped models. Or they are very selective about the models they use, and you get crap like a Hardee's softcore porn commercial.
And it's not just women. Men have been and are increasingly being held to these "ideal" standards that are pushed on them.
