1. I am married to my best friend. I want to be with him for the rest of my life. No one could ever make me as happy as he does.
2. I am extremely emotional. I pretty much cry at everything.
3. My favorite movie is The Green Mile. No movie has ever affected me like this one. Actually... I take that back. 127 Hours also really affected me.
4. My favorite band is Nine Inch Nails.
5. I used to draw ALL THE TIME. Sadly, I don't anymore. I wish I never stopped.
6. I play a Troll Shaman in WoW... I named her Thefifthkind. It's been almost a week since I last played.
7. I love rollerskating.
8. I love reading about Aliens and Alien "Encounters". I remember seeing a strange object in the sky... My stepmom saw it too.
9. I want to meet an Alien. So bad. I think it would be one of the most amazing things in the entire world.
10. I love Ancient History. Ancient Egypt especially. I would love to go there one day.
11. I want to help people one day... maybe even save the world.

13. I am in the U.S. Navy. It'll be 4 years on August 1st this year.
14. My parents divorced when I was 12-ish... and I was happy about it. They fought all the time. They get along now, thank goodness!
15. I love animals. I used to want to be a Vet.

Gay guys know 15 things about themselves and 15 things about everyone else in the room as well.

Tell me all your secrets! I swear it'll be just between us.

1. I take part in excavations, and did excavations in Israel and the UK so far. my last excavation thread is on the Travel forum on RF, and I'm actually still in the area exploring it until Saturday. I've done my archaeology studies in Israel, and have travelled the middle east, Europe and the far east visiting archaeological and historical sites. I've excavated in sites which together span from the Bronze age and up to the late Ottoman (Turkish) era.
2. I love trekking and canyoning. when I was still living in Israel I would cross the border to Jordan and trek the dry river beds of the Dead Sea Rift.
3. I daily explore religious and political issues of my region and around the relevant places of the world.
4. I am interested in relevant contemporary geological issues ranging from evolutionary evidences of life on this planet to tracking water resources to geological layers aiding the work of archaeologists in determining the relevant periods and significant periods or events.
5. I've become focused on Mars missions, and future Mars exploration. as the red planet offers interesting possibilities for our kind.
6. I read the Hebrew Bible in its original language and work hard to 'connect the dots', using parallel and contemporary sources such as the Babylonian and Assyrian chronological tablets. I believe that the Bible free from god has a tremendous importance in sharing with us life in the most important region of the world at the time, and arguably today.
7. Many of my friends are rock musicians and some have gained moderate success both in Israel and abroad.
8. I eat mainly organic food at home. mainly because it is economically wise. and people might actually discover that it tastes better.
9. I love museums. and would go for the guided tours.
10. I love simple astronomy and constellation spotting.
11. I love the local cider produced in Brittany in North Western France. and have found local stores that sell them in London.
12. I believe that men and women should control their religion instead of letting it control them or at least understand it. today after people have been unable to work hard enough in order to get to the bottom of their scriptures, texts, religious leaders and religious-social issues, there is a defeated phenomenon to throw religion all together, as if it is possible to erase it from human history and experience. a real long term and life lasting education would be to educate yourself about your religion, or the religion of your background, understand its scripture, what its prophets have said, what the historical leaders have aimed for and how it was associated with the political landscape. having blind faith without providing an evidence for yourself has become a damaging phenomenon for the person experiencing the faith.
13. I believe that all dilemmas, questions, and curiosity motivations have completely naturalistic explanations. I do not believe in answers from above, or from higher planes. everything we need to know is right here in the soil. in the geology, the resources, the archaeology. all the answers we need are there. when you educate yourself, you realize how stupid you were for believing so much without information or without going and checking the facts for yourself.
14. I'll leave the rest for healthy curiosity.

Your turn! Please play!

This thread is insightful - not only because of the tidbits of information either. What's even more interesting is the insight into peoples' personalities based on what they choose to reveal.

1) I graduated high school at the bottom of my class - #761 of 782.

2) On my first day of college, I discovered that I could do it, and committed to working hard so I'd get scholarships for Master's and PhD. I got both.

3) I love Martin guitars. I have two - a D-18 and a D-15. I also have a Recording King RO-26 that I adore.

4) I'm 31 and I've been married for more than 10 years. Many of my friends from college or high school are on their second or third marriage.

5) I desperately want to move to Canada... a paradise where there are no Republicans.

6) The best day for me is going to the ballpark and watching the Rangers play, and drinking as many beers as I want (wife usually limits me to two).

7) My favorite drink: three fingers of Cuervo gold, a splash of TripleSec, juice of one large lime, on the rocks in a salted glass. I usually drink it in a tumbler and fill it to the brim.

8) My other favorite drink is Gentleman Jack. The first night I had this, I woke up in my office naked and I didn't know where I was. Good stuff.

9) I've met most of my favorite NT scholars in person. I happened to see one of my favorite scholars in a hotel at a conference. I ran up to him and shook his hand, telling him how much his books changed my outlook on Paul. Halfway through this, my buddy whispered in my ear, "Dude, he doesn't speak English." The guy went to Yale for crying out loud.

10) I went to college with No*s (an old RF member) and I consider him my best friend from college. Damn smart guy.

11) I've been told by the TCU librarian that I read more books than anyone else on campus - including the professors. That was a few years ago. I hope that I still have the title.

I still have a similar dot in the palm of my right hand from a grade-school incident I've otherwise forgotten.

Ha. I have a dot on my foot from when a stepped on a rusty nail in Mexico back in 1998. Went right through a thick-soled boot.

But you might be closer to me....where our extremists are so extreme, that I'm considered an extreme moderate.

Btw, methinks you're running from yourself. You'd make a pretty good Republican...a credit to your party.
