2024 USA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION DAY watch party.

Viker

Your beloved eccentric Auntie Cristal
The platform pushing towards a powerful centralized federal government with less state autonomy.
Now that the election is over and we've been told that Trump lied about Project 2025, that is exactly what is getting ready to happen.

Where's your decentralized government(in the Mandate for Leadership)?

Where's your "states rights" argument now (impending federal abortion ban)?

Yes he is. You can deny it all you want but he is still a member of the DSA.

Maybe you would prefer it straight from the horse's mouth....

Bernie was supported by the DSA, but he is not affiliated to the DSA. You are mixing those things up.

Either way, this is fairly irrelevant point. Why does it matter if he is a member of the DSA?

The DSA is not the Democratic party. It is a whole different political organization. And The Squad (and Bernie Sanders) is definitely not the elite of the Democratic party.

He is a member of the DSA. I don't know how to break that to you, but that's a fact. Same as AOC and others.

Of course you're always free to deny it but it's not going to change the truth of it.

You can simply check the Wikipedia link you have provided. It shows him as being Independent, while AOC and many of the others are indeed listed as DSA members. I still have no idea why this is relevant to you at all though.

What difference would it make if Bernie Sanders was a DSA member? Why does it matter?

Because socialism is a very dangerous threat to this country.

One doesn't need to be affiliated to DSA to support socialism. Actually, many of the policies supported by DSA are not even socialist per se.

Can you elaborate on why and how socialism is a threat to USA? Hardly any elected politician is a socialist.

Simple it's a Marxist philosophy. Even Marx had stated democracy leads to socialism, and socialism leads to Communism.

Of course we know what Communist countries are like in the world along with the destruction Socialism brings to the table like what had happened to Greece and Venezuela.

That's why it's a threat because we see what happens to the countries who employ it.

Nope. Marx said that capitalism leads to socialism. That's why capitalism is so bad.

As far as I know, Greece is still a democracy. And France. Sweden and Germany also, though we never had real socialists in our administration, just social democrats. (That's the movement Sanders identifies most with, they are the inventors of the Scandinavian Model.)

They land up in top ten lists of most liveable countries.

Erm... He didn't quite say that, right? Can you find his actual statement?

Ah, so you think that what happened in Venezuela and Greece was a consequence of socialism. But that's not actually the case... There is a lot of mismanagement involved in both cases.

Let me approach this from a different angle. If you had to pick one of the following countries to live on it for the entirety of 2025, (for all sakes and purposes, you would have a middle class job to grant your survival) which one would you: Jamaica, France or Italy? Would it ever cross your mind to pick Jamaica? It just so happens that Jamaica is ranked much higher than both France and Italy in Heritage's economy index. Would you pick the least socialist country out of those 3?
