9% Say they intentionally have not paid back student loans

Even those who went a medical route are struggling. As are teachers.

Medical professionals, especially psychiatrists, are having routine panic attacks and nervous breakdowns on a routine basis because of something extremely stupid someone encouraged them to do when they were 17 years old.

The way the landscape of legal profession has completely transformed has meant that the amount of actually practicing lawyers has plummeted dramatically over the last 20 years while the amount of kids under the age of 20 signing up for $150,000+ student debt has surged like crazy because these poor naive kids get stars in their eyes when they picture themselves as shiny rich barristers in 8 years time, which is about as commonplace now as someone moving to Hollywood and becoming a well known actor.

People who inevitably fail to meet their dreams and financial goals often go the teaching route - which means doubling down on their I'll gotten debt. Lotta suicides on that life path too.

The people defending student loan repayments are likely from a bygone era where university was a well known privilege that practically ensured that a person would have a lucrative, esteemed and secure career - that simply is not the case anymore.

Really? No one forced anyone to take out these loans. They made a decision to do it whether it was an informed decision of not. They need to repay what they took.

Really? Yeah really.

It's ironic that a lot of these no nothing kids who sign up for 6 figure loans to study law will inevitably learn about unconscionable conduct in contract administration - which is exactly what these universities are doing to them.

Yes, 18 years old means you are technically an adult. But that doesn't mean you know anything about anything. Especially not what you're signing up for. And, at that age, they're usually guided by their parents and teachers who either don't have a clue what these kids should be doing with themselves at 18 or are completely out of touch with the tertiary education and entry level positions in careers in the 21st century.

Student loans are a huge problem facing society in the 2020s. The universities are the ones to blame. They deserve to eat it.

You've completely misread and misunderstood my post.

Try again.

Hint: I'm actually agreeing with you.
Calling blatant disagreemnt and agreement?
No, that's nit the case and I didn't misread your post. You said:

After that its more mindless ranting that more nonsense, some garbage about lawyers, and more nonsense regarding suicide.

How familiar are you with Japan's monetary policy?
Very familiar.
Back to the topic.

Logic of the USA: only the wealthy deserve to go to university. So the children of the wealthy will become someone, even if they are absolutely unfit.

Logic of Europe: the State will fund deserving children who can't afford to pay tuition fees, so they can become someone.

Personally I believe education should be free to the student.
As do I, since I believe strongly that education is a powerful economic booster, it is also a powerful social booster. Those with post-secondary educations are able to adopt much better informed opinions and understaning of human nature and our human differences, and thus are better equipped to respect the views and capacities of others.

Even now, in the United States (and elsewhere) those who did not go on to higher education are also the most likely to support destructive ideas like white supremacy, racism and worse.

I believe certain political factions want an uneducated electorate so that it is more pliable to populist narratives.

Which is why almost all slaves went uneducated except in the specific job they had to do. Of course, don't ask Nikki Haley about that as it appears she doesn't believe there were slaves.
