A Call for Unity in America

Your posts prove Americans are no nearer unity than when Trump was in power.
Of course not, Trump is still in power. ;) Unity takes time.
All you care about is getting a Democrat in the White House, even a bumbling old fool will do so long as it's a Democrat bumbling old fool.
I am not Democrat because Baha'is cannot be affiliated with any political party. Rather than voting along party lines or engaging in elections the same way partisans do, Baha’is vote based on the character and the merits of the individual running for office. The choice was obvious.
One Nation under god. :facepalm:
Is that what bothers you, that Biden is a believer in something bigger than himself?

By choosing to make decisions for themselves, man ran himself into a tangled web of a six foot spider. How?
Man's decisions are not unanimous, as though there were programmed into a chip, and placed in the brains of everyone.

The Limits of Government - pp. 98-101 - David Fromkin
A government ran under Jehovahs blessing and support would be intolerably repressive, criminally oppressive, and it would have put many of us to death by now.
The human states have also been calming down. After centuries and centuries of religious warfare Europe doesn't do that much anymore. Still has war, but one less reason to go to war and kill people is fantastic.

Can you please explain what you mean by this?
I received a BahaiTeachings.org article yesterday entitled “How Baha’is Practice Non-Partisanship.” Below is an excerpt from the article that is pertinent to your question:

“Many people view partisan politics as the only route to social change, but Baha’is see partisanship differently – as a bias, a dis-unifying passage to polarized views, as yet another way to separate people from one another, and as an impediment to real change:

Though loyal to their respective governments, though imbued with the love of their own country, and anxious to promote, at all times, its best interests, the followers of the Baha’i Faith, nevertheless, viewing mankind as one entity, and profoundly attached to its vital interests, will not hesitate to subordinate every particular interest, be it personal, regional or national, to the over-riding interests of the generality of mankind, knowing full well that in a world of interdependent peoples and nations the advantage of the part is best to be reached by the advantage of the whole, and that no lasting result can be achieved by any of the component parts if the general interests of the entity itself are neglected. Shoghi Effendi’s 1947 Summary Statement to the Special UN Committee on Palestine.

“The advantage of the part,” Shoghi Effendi wrote, “is best to be reached by the advantage of the whole …”

Clearly, partisan political warfare attempts to reverse that principle. The basic philosophy of partisan politics maintains that “our” side has to win – then we’ll have power over the other side, and we’ll get what we want.

The Baha’i teachings say the exact opposite – that no one can win unless everyone does: “The Baha’i Faith upholds the unity of God, recognizes the unity of His Prophets, and inculcates the principle of the oneness and wholeness of the entire human race.” – Ibid. This founding Baha’i principle recognizes and incorporates the scientific truth of human interdependence and inter-relatedness into a coherent worldview that builds unity rather than division.

Baha’is don’t engage in partisan politics, not because they want to hold themselves aloof from them, but because partisanship creates enemies. The hyper-partisanship we witness in the world today, and the anger, hostility and even violence that it causes, proves that political wrangling prevents unity.”

It means that as Baha'is, we are not "allowed" to be a registered Democrat or a registered Republican.
We are also not allowed to run for any political office or engage in partisan politics, such as attending rallies.

Does that answer your question?

One large problem with a united religion is the lack of a "book", questioning who is "supreme".
We do not lack a Book stating who is supreme, but that Book is a different Book in every age.
I believe that everyone should follow the Book that was revealed by God for the age in which they live.

There is no way to know the future holds so we cannot know what that Book will be when all the religions unite, but I believe the Book for the present age is The Works of Bahá'u'lláh.

The Book of God was likened to a City in the following passage:

"Once in about a thousand years shall this City be renewed and readorned….

That City is none other than the Word of God revealed in every age and dispensation. In the days of Moses it was the Pentateuch; in the days of Jesus, the Gospel; in the days of Muhammad, the Messenger of God, the Qur’án; in this day, the Bayán; and in the Dispensation of Him Whom God will make manifest, His own Book—the Book unto which all the Books of former Dispensations must needs be referred, the Book that standeth amongst them all transcendent and supreme.”

My personal life situation leaves a lot to be desired :( but I could not be happier about the results of the election. :)

Admittedly, I was worried on election night when it appeared as if Trump was winning, and after that I was on edge until the picture started to become clearer, but the relief came on Saturday morning when I turned on the news. Biden is clearly calling for unity in America.

This is the beginning of a fulfillment of all my hopes and dreams as a Baha’i because I see it as the beginning of the fulfillment of what Baha’u’llah taught -- the unity of mankind and equality and justice for all regardless of race, religion or gender.

For Baha’is, the unity of mankind means that we are all part of the human race because we all proceed from the same Source, God, and that we are all part of that whole.

“The utterance of God is a lamp, whose light is these words: Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch. Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship. He Who is the Day Star of Truth beareth Me witness! So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth. The one true God, He Who knoweth all things, Himself testifieth to the truth of these words.” Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 288

“So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.” That is what I see happening.

Unity does not mean we agree about everything. It simply means that we can work together with a common purpose to accomplish a common goal. I see that happening now in America, and I am so happy.

“Consider the world of created beings, how varied and diverse they are in species, yet with one sole origin. All the differences that appear are those of outward form and colour. This diversity of type is apparent throughout the whole of nature.

Behold a beautiful garden full of flowers, shrubs, and trees. Each flower has a different charm, a peculiar beauty, its own delicious perfume and beautiful colour. The trees too, how varied are they in size, in growth, in foliage—and what different fruits they bear! Yet all these flowers, shrubs and trees spring from the self-same earth, the same sun shines upon them and the same clouds give them rain.....

Thus should it be among the children of men! The diversity in the human family should be the cause of love and harmony, as it is in music where many different notes blend together in the making of a perfect chord.....

Likewise, when you meet those whose opinions differ from your own, do not turn away your face from them. All are seeking truth, and there are many roads leading thereto. Truth has many aspects, but it remains always and forever one.

Do not allow difference of opinion, or diversity of thought to separate you from your fellow-men, or to be the cause of dispute, hatred and strife in your hearts.

Rather, search diligently for the truth and make all men your friends.”Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, pp. 51-53

Excerpts from: BEAUTY AND HARMONY IN DIVERSITY

I also see the very beginning of promises in the Bible starting to be fulfilled.

Isaiah 11:6-9 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

I believe that those verses mean that in the future everyone will believe in God and people of diverse religions and races will become friends and companions. Eventually the contentions of races, the differences of religions, and the barriers between nations will be completely removed.

I believe that the following verse has the same essential meaning as Isaiah 11:6-9
I believe that Jesus is promising that He will bring everyone together into one fold, and there will be only one race of men, the human race.

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

I believe that God’s Purpose is to unite humanity. Obviously, this is going to take a very long time, but I see the beginnings of it starting to unfold in America and around the world.

The following was written in 1941.

“God’s purpose is none other than to usher in, in ways He alone can bring about, and the full significance of which He alone can fathom, the Great, the Golden Age of a long-divided, a long-afflicted humanity. Its present state, indeed even its immediate future, is dark, distressingly dark. Its distant future, however, is radiant, gloriously radiant—so radiant that no eye can visualize it............” The Promised Day is Come, p. 116

God’s Purpose
I disagree with you about Biden very much. But i Hope you are right about world peace. I think you has read to much fake news from far left pages. Biden is a comunist.. That is very very bad i think. He has support a war. Many innocent people in Middle east is dead because of that war. And the son's laptop. He do support abortion, and i believe abortion is almost always bad. He support leftist violence group who has killed many in USA. Well... I do not think God support him. But i Hope world peace will become a reality today! So fast as possible
I Think you should read more real news. What the far left really is. I do not like Trump. Both Biden and Trump is bad, but Trump was the best candidate of those two. Im against both far left and far right, they both is scary and bad i think. I think God do not support Biden.

To me it obvious that you have been brainwashed by fake news. What verifiable evidence do you have? I like verifiable evidence so please present it. Verifiable evidence comes from reputable news sources.

I think you need to get educated. The Baha'i Faith is not based on any Iranian values. Quite the contrary, Muslims in power were the ones who imprisoned Baha'ul'lah and banished Him from place to place for 40 years, because Bahaullah broke with Islam by bringing new teachings that ran contrary to Islamic Laws and traditions. Moreover, in more recent times and since at least the 1970s Bahais have been persecuted in Iran:

Baháʼí spokespeople, as well as the United Nations, Amnesty International, the European Union, the United States, and peer-reviewed academic literature have stated that the members of the Baháʼí community in Iran have been subjected to unwarranted arrests, false imprisonment, beatings, torture, unjustified executions, ...

Persecution of Baháʼís - Wikipedia

Here are a few of the fundamental teachings of the Baha'i Faith that are aligned with Biden 's values. .
  • The unity of mankind.
  • Equality of men and women.
  • Elimination of all forms of prejudice.
As for America's values, they are divided because 57% of white America voted for Trump. This indicates that racial prejudice is alive and well in America.

I know that he went against islamic tradition, yet it is still build on it's basis; hence the in the name of God vice before every writing; Baha'ullah couldn't Dismiss that fact of Islamic Tradition; AS for the Evidence, i don't think it is worth showing any; because What is it to me to Change your perspective on things, Does not benefit; Just wanted to tickle your fancy.

Not worthwhile :), hope you understand lol

I believe that all religions will unite in the future, but it is a long way off. Meanwhile I think we should do our best to get along with one another in a spirit of unity and harmony.

The reason I believe there will be only one religion in the future is because of what Baha'u'llah wrote below. Logic tells me that if God ordains something, it has to happen eventually.

[/QUOTE]
Unity can only come when you empathize with the other parties. You've shown zero empathy and zero unity for Republicans. You're full of joy the Republicans lost.

Do you want more crime, illegal immigrants, fewer working-class jobs, more imports, fewer exported goods, a widening gap between rich and poor, etc? Because that's what your governments are giving you.

You only want a government that will do what you consider right. What if it was a government that banned small religions? Like Baha'is.

Actually some of those "illegal immigrants" were people I got to know in college, who came here legally. And even if they did come illegally, forcing drugs, forcing sterilization, and separating parents and children is a heinous violation of rights amd everything American values stamd for.

No, I am not a registered Democrat. I voted for Biden because he has a good character, and that is how Baha'is choose a candidate.

As Baha'u'llah wrote "The light of a good character surpasseth the light of the sun and the radiance thereof."

“The third Taráz concerneth good character. A good character is, verily, the best mantle for men from God. With it He adorneth the temples of His loved ones. By My life! The light of a good character surpasseth the light of the sun and the radiance thereof. Whoso attaineth unto it is accounted as a jewel among men. The glory and the upliftment of the world must needs depend upon it. A goodly character is a means whereby men are guided to the Straight Path and are led to the Great Announcement. Well is it with him who is adorned with the saintly attributes and character of the Concourse on High.” Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 36
