I believe as Christians we are not subservient to rituals. My brother-in-law got food poisoning from eating pizza. It was most likely the mushrooms on it. Mushrooms get recalled often so if you eat them and get a belly ache I would suggest getting to an emergency room. However the Bible does not have an injunction against eating mushrooms. Strangely enough we all ate the same pizza without getting sick.

RITUALS...???
The reply I gave was about TRUTH. Jesus used parables so those who were not believers would hear and not understand.
The bible and the word of God is not a pizza and the truth is, if only your brother-in-law got sick it was not the pizza but something he ate which the others had not.

My reply had nothing to do with whether a believer is subservient to rituals since we were not at any time discussing rituals.

As Christ said it isn't what goes into through the mouth and into the belly which makes a man unclean.
It is what comes out of his heart. Are you really comparing to what goes into the mouth to what comes out of the heart?

The Jew of the New Covenant be they gentile in origin or Jew are about living in Spirit and Truth.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 King James Version (KJV)
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

The Prophet Jeremiah, tells the people the covenant is where God writes it on their hearts. So a change of heart and we know it is always by his Spirit. The Word of God has always come to mankind by the power and presence of Gods Holy Spirit/. Jesus himself declaring..." My words are Spirit and they are life.! So if we look at these teachings from the Prophets given by God what say you?
