Most civil discussion about religion ever?
No, because God is in the Rain so we may have a Cuban Missile Crisis of a Holy War on our hands. And because this is a religious discussion, there is disagreement, this might just have to escalate to the hostilities of Stephen Hawking versus a talking clock!

We would destroy them with one drop of rain.

I've noted that signature before, and remembered you said you'd be going...

How was the trip?
It went really well, and I went with a friend who lost his wife 2 years ago, so we talked a lot. Both of us have so many great memories, and we discussed what may be next for him. His three daughters have given him the OK to move on if he finds someone he loves, and there's already one who's attracted to him.

Thank you so much for asking, so how about you?

I'm glad you had such a good trip. :) All the best to your friend as he moved forward.

No trips for me; probably better that way. I think someone compared our last vacation to National Lampoon's...

Thanks again, but I hope your next trip is more like "Love Story".
I'm not familiar with that one(actually, someone had to show me some clips of the other movie, because I wasn't familiar with that one, either), but I hope its easier going. :D

Leaves are falling. :( I hate summer's departure.

Anyone observe the coming of fall in any religious manner, or have any favored fall observances?

Yeah, Autumn Equinox in a few weeks. Not sure if I'll do another traditional black walnut harvest or not. I got lazy and didn't shell the harvest from last year so I'll probably do that at least (or maybe sooner now that I'm remembering it haha), but to be fair, shelling black walnuts without a specialized device is a task, lemme tell ya. Gotta wear safety glasses and use a hammer. Some regular nutcracker ain't getting through black walnut shells, nope.

Black walnut shells matter.

The last couple of years I have enjoyed learning and participating in the traditions of Día de los Muertos from my Latin friends. I'm looking forward to something similar again this year.

Sounds fun! :D

What are some of your favorite things about it?

Tonight was the first night a number of us attended our rabbi's new Zoom class on Maimonides. This first night was basically an introduction to Maimonides' life and times. It was an hour well spent and I'm looking forward to next week's class.

He was a great theologian, imo.
