No, HST was a very very bad boy.
But perhaps not by the standards of the very leftish PC police.
He must be investigated!
Thompson was so far Left, like me, that he is simply beyond the jurisdiction of the "PC Police." Could they complain? Yes. Would he have cared? He would've had an elaborate and visually vivid (even if powerfully awkward) metaphor to say no.

Well that and he'd probably be far too stoned to even notice.... But still.

That I doubt. Though he did do "rock star" amounts of drugs, he was still nevertheless an astute social and political observer. He was, afterall, a "doctor" of journalism. And despite doing that while super-ultra-f'ed up wasted, he still gave us glimpses into strange and unusual worlds that other journalists dare not tread.
