Alabama passes bill making some transgender healthcare a felony

Have you read the thousands of testimonies of people who knew they were trans from a young age, who get gender affirming care which does alleviate their gender dysphoria and they don't have regrets?
No, I haven’t read the thousands but you’re discounting the hundreds of people who regret their decision like it’s ok.
People also do this concerning other issues justifying their position, like it’s a small percentage of abortions of fully formed babies in the womb but the actual number of that small percentage is 40,000.

Did you read the testimonies of those hundreds of people who wished they didn’t transition and got different counsel? The reason people are now talking about this issue is the increase in number of those children being diagnosed and encouraged to start transitioning at a young age, sometimes without parents knowledge. You make it seem like what could have been a scenario for my daughter had she been in a certain setting, a teacher could have suggested that she was transgender or no? I’m certain this happens more times than you’re willing to admit.
Do you have any actual examples of this occurring, aside from just your belief that it is occurring?

Meanwhile you're discounting the experience of the far, far larger majority of successes, to justify your position that the rug should be pulled out from under them. Literally with appeals to emotion, an irrational position.

If I provide you with examples will you agree with me about the abuse that’s happening with children concerning transgender issues?
No, because taking kids seriously when they report gender dysphoria and receiving proper care which includes counseling and occasionally puberty blockers isn't abuse.

I haven’t discounted anything but there is a point of no return once a person starts down that road, it ends up the only option. I’m sure at some point the hundreds who regret their decision now were part of those who were happy at first, unfortunately for them it’s too late to go back once body parts have been removed.

If your reasoning is that it shouldn't be allowed because some had regrets than that is, indeed, discounting the far, far larger majority of successes.

The possibility of regret and the possibility of complications exists in every surgery, often at a rate far higher than less than 1% (my breast reduction surgery I had at 16 included). That doesn't mean they shouldn't be done, but the most reasonable measures to reduce complications and make sure consent is informed happens.

So, are we to believe that the state should decide such personal matters and not parents, their children, and the doctors they choose? And this is from "conservatives" who supposedly believe in "small government"?

Oh, my aching back!

No, but it is up to government to put up guard rails for protection. I’m all for parents, doctors for making these decisions and another reason I was not in favor of the Covid Mandates either.
I did explain that the main problem I had was when teachers withheld information from parents and think they know what’s best for them as well as adults talking to children about sexual matters, has no place in school for adults talking to minors, it’s for the parents.
Problem is today most information is one sided, if you don’t agree with a certain view then censorship, and cancelled.

To a point yes, but the problem is determining where that point is.

Intruding on a family decision whereas the teen wants the medical help and the parents and doctors degree is way too much of a governmental overreach, imo. Thus, you are severely compromising any "conservatism" you may claim.

And yet we know that masking has saved many lives according to the extensive research on this, therefore you're not even close to being consistent.

If some teachers overstep the boundaries, then it's up to the parents in their local school districts to deal with this with their school boards. That's what "conservatism" looks like.

BTW, I think some of us here actually see the political hypocrisy that's at play here, such as several months ago this wasn't a national political issue but because of the Pubs and their media it's not supposedly a "scandal"?

IOW, it's all about this Pub's "culture wars" nonsense trying to brainwash voters through scare tactics, and they do this a lot and with other subjects. For example, the supposed C-RT that led to DeSantis and the Florida legislature to remove half the math textbooks. When they were asked to show where C-ST appears in them, they produced not one example.

Book burning is at 11 and don't forget to wear your hoods.

I believe it’s the parents sounding the alarm, pointing out the abuses from teachers and school boards that has caused the government to step in just like in Virginia.

Have masks saved “many” lives? You don’t know that and there are other studies that say there were no difference whether masks or no masks in certain areas.
The Emergency Must Be Ended, Now ⋆ Brownstone Institute
I just gave you a ton of studies showing that they do save lives and have saved lives during the pandemic. Read and learn. One study doesn't demonstrate much. A collection of studies all pointing to the same conclusion, does.

There is a reason doctors and nurses wear them, you know.

Nonsense, as this originated as a political stunt as such surgical modifications have been going on for decades now. Same with Critical-Race Theory that goes back for over two decades without controversy and is not taught in public secondary education. And math books???

You've been successfully "played".
