UK Sikhs and Hindus are too busy concentrating on becoming doctors or entrepreneurs.
But there are awareness group (for example, in that BBC documentary there was a Sikh Awareness group at a Gurudwara). The problem, however, is that when a Desi female is raped, it is seen as a loss of honor for the Desi parents---and I'm sure you are familiar with this horrid, backward reality. I thought this was prominent only in the rural villages of, say, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana for example. But it has been brought here by Desi expatriates in the West.
They won't really even do that much to get to the bottom of it; and in most cases, many of them are practically stunned that such a thing can happen and don't really know how to proceed onwards. And it's not just Sikh and Hindu Desi females. Heck, so many moderate, progressive Muslim females get tons of slack from their Desi parents---especially if they are caught dating non-Muslim Desis. And sometimes, it tragically ends in honor killings. It just never makes the news that often because mainstream media doesn't know how to approach it (cultural sensitivity and that type of jazz).
