Another School Shooting

Thank you for further proving my point.
Perhaps if you put half as much time and energy learning about gun laws in the USA as you did in your pathetic little rant...

I shant be holding my breath though.

I don't take you seriously...... do you remember once, telling me that you didn't need to go on CVIT courses 'cos you had a gun? Remember? Pathetic, that was.............
But other US members know better than you, methinks.
......like I said, 'get on with it' ........ :D:

I actually think there is a specific psychology of owning guns that gun owners become dependent on, maybe even to the point of addiction.

I suspect you are right. There is a lot of fantasy and wishful thinking associated with gun "rights".

Hi Luis........ Dead right!
......... addictive is my guess. A lot of people will feel the need to have a gun 'near' for mostly any activity........ answering the door, brandishing at strangers, going shopping, going to university! going for a walk, a trip to the cinema maybe.......... slaves to guns. Their very manhood may depend on guns. So sad.......

Ohhhhh........ They're aren't any Huns any more. They're Europeans now.
And what has the 2nd World War got to do with CR checks, quals, Licensing, Mandatory Insurance and compulsory home security for firearms got to do with the US entering the war after being attacked by the Axis Allies?
Just pointing out that our war-lust culture can come in handy if WW1 or WW2 ever become a rerun. And beware the Hun. (I have some Hun blood in me, so I know.)

More like it can come in handy to cause a repeat run, IMO.
Perhaps you believe that having weapons causes war.
I see it as: War lust causes war.

But the modern age has a new wrinkle. We narrowly averted a US v USSR war when their early warning system malfunctioned with a false positive. It could've been the first instance of weapons starting a war all by themselves.

Oh, you emasculated Brits are just jealous that we can own big guns, but you're not considered responsible enuf to have them. I don't blame you for this envy & anger.

Outside of the sarcasm and jesting, I do agree that people can be responsible enough to own guns. It is true that there is a long history of responsible gun use from hunting, sporting, collectibles and so on. Hence, why I changed from an abolishment to a gun control stand.

Thank you for further proving my point.

Could you give a summary of the gun laws according to you? From your local county, state and federal? I honestly have little knowledge what the gun laws are but do know that at least a 9 year old can legally shoot an uzi at a gun range in Nevada. But why is this relevant concerning the gun laws? Are you asserting that our gun laws are sufficient in preventing deaths by firearms? Or preventing gun ownership to the wrong individuals?

Interesting spin on what I actually said.
Though not the least bit surprising.

Like I said, hard to take you seriously when you make it up as you go along, cannot be bothered to stay on task...

I for one am not the least bit interested in your game of pigeon chess.

As Mestemia said, you need to brush up on American gun laws if you want to have any chance of being taken seriously. Several of the things you just listed in your rant would get you arrested here.

What...... you? A sabre rattler? I never would have thought.....

No.... really, Huns died out with Bismark, and most Nazis died out with Hitler. Germans deserve much more respect than that now. And they have fought beside us since those days.

Now...... let's see....... another school shooting....... You get so many that if a single incident is mentioned, folks will mix up which one was meant. Your fine President has done everything possible to make a difference about gun-laws in the US, and been thwarted..... so at least he can feel that he tried, but even so, I'll bet that he he hangs his head every time he reads about yet another gun killing spree..

Since you refuse to educate yourself on US gun laws, why should we believe your opinions on the actions of our President are any more informed or trustworthy?

1) I live in a country of sabre rattlers, but I'm not one of'm.
2) We Huns still loom.
3) Obama could've done what I see as productive work on useful gun control, but he didn't. He's more about posturing to pander.

Just because I may soon be in a position to change my name from oldbadger to oddball don't mean that we Brits are emasculated by our wish to seek for a more organised and safe society.

You can't have safety and security without some loss of freedom, but imagine being able to go out to work, shopping, for a walk etc without having to even think about protection against ........... folks with guns.

We're not angry because we can't have a gun, because we can have a gun..... but first we have to show clean criminal record, genuine need or use, somewhere to use it, a secure safe to keepit in, blah blahh..... so we're not jealous of your guns, most of us probably think it's weird that you need them so much.

Your earlier description of several acquaintances having discharged guns at people, and many acquaintances having brandished them at people 'paints' a picture of a level of social insanity and hysteria which many folks would probably laugh at. I'm not laughing, I think it's sad.

You all need help with this....... just saying.

Exactly............. the common sense of good gun regulation

We're not discussing existing laws, are we..... we're discussing that school shootings just keep on recurring...... we're discussing the need for better regulation and control, and you do not have very good regs........

We (most members) were in moderate agreement over the need for CRC's, Quals, Home safes, Insurance, etc etc before the member came in with 'I don't take you seriously .....' a trolling post which needed a tough reply.

It's a sad sad fact that your children are not safe....... not even at home, let alone at school.

What rules and laws do you have aconcerning keeping firearms and guns in your homes? Let's see what you really know.........

We never could have guessed........

2) We Huns still loom.
I don't expect that too many Germans like the word. Best we call them Germans, and our Brit forces have gone into battle with Germans beside us since those days. Germans are our allies. What your fathers did beside our fathers..... all happened a long time ago.
We cannot wear their medals, so let's not try to.

3) Obama could've done what I see as productive work on useful gun control, but he didn't. He's more about posturing to pander.
President Obama did his very best for a better and safer society (in the future) by better gun control now. Don't take it away from him.
Really, you might reconsider ......... he has been returned to office through your democratic system, and he has not been involved in personal disgrace, scandal, crimes, adultery, lies,..... in fact he's rather unusual ...........
