The influence comes from the logic within how the teaching unfolds. It is something I can't shake, which is what brought me here, to challenge it, and talk about it etc...
Well if it is true, the bible gives plenty of scenarios and warnings telling us what we should be doing.

Okay IWE, lets say for a second that it is the end of the world. You and all that believe this can still be way wrong with what Doomsday it is.
Whether or not something divine is give you or who ever else these thought are you sure they are form your god, and not from something else?
This date could bring about Ragnarok, the Mayan Dday, Kemetic ending, or any of the other there are.

If you REALLY believed this was going to happen,
You would have quit your job already,
just stopped going to work...
probably at least last month....
and stopped paying bills and doing all kinds of mundane things...
and gone somewhere wonderful with your wife and son,
to be raptured in the most beautiful and spiritual and meaningful way possible.

If you REALLY believed this was going to happen,
You would have quit your job already,
just stopped going to work...
probably at least last month....
and stopped paying bills and doing all kinds of mundane things...
and gone somewhere wonderful with your wife and son,
to be raptured in the most beautiful and spiritual and meaningful way possible.

I am sure I will be a bit anxious, at least that what I say today anyway... Mostly just the same as usual, because whatever happens is completely out of my control. I just hope Iam found on the good side of events, as well as everyone else.

There is some truth it appears to what you suggest. It appears the majority of those that belong to churches or run churches will be left behind. That is something that is quite interesting to me, as they think they are in fact "secure" in Christ...
I am actually playing in my pool today, doing a little work for some clients and chilling out. Life is pretty good, and even better since we decided to pay the stupid mortgage company all they ask of us to stay in our house. I do not know how long one can stay in there house "Squat" as it were, I have heard maybe a year or so. The problem is, my wife does not agree with my end times ideas either, so it would be impossible to try and convince her to squat for a year and wait.

No it gives lessons about when God destroys some place what happens before hand, and what people should be doing.

Thanks for sharing though, as I totally get how you think your logic is so sound. I just have little interest in "proving" my faith to anyone. It is something I believe in, and share as people might want to know, and if they don't so be it.

Agreed. I didn't mean them it to be serious. It was a what if question to think about. I don't believe in any religious Doomsdays at all.
