Are Americans disposed to fight a war against Russia?

Self-criticism is what enabled us Europeans to repudiate the notion of war, because of the monstrous things done during Nazism.

I think that through self-criticism, the USA can do the same thing, realizing how monstrous the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan (and others) were.
:)
Yet there are militaries in Europe.........So in all your "American Expertise" You know Americans don't do this how?

It is obvious you do not know anywhere near as much about America as you think. And I noticed the Ukraine war is conspicuously missing there...you know, the one Putin started.....

And although I do know what self-criticism is... by your usage above... I'm not sure. you do.

Self-criticism is the act of evaluating oneself negatively, especially one's behavior, work, or performance.

For self-criticism to work in your example it would have to mostly apply to the German people, not necessarily all of Europe

I was expecting an answer like "Yes, We Americans acknowledge that our rulers fought unjust wars and we will learn from history".

So...zero self-criticism? ;)

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Well, many would say that most of Europe with the exception of the UK was pretty complicit.

You didn't understand a thing I have said did you...I didn't say yes and I didn't say no.. I said you don't understand the actual meaning of self-criticism and you don't understand America and asked you how you know any of what you say as fact....

You have no idea what self-criticism means so you saying zero self criticism means nothing at all..

you have no clue as to what you are saying so how can any one actually answer your unfounded, unproven accusations?

Well, we Europeans haven't learned that as we started an unjust war in Ukraine by one of the countries in Europe, Russia.
My country didn't start anything.

Our government said: we are not at war with Russia. I can provide you links and evidence.
Who's we?
Denmark?

Google: Self-criticism is defined as the tendency to engage in negative self-evaluation that results in feelings of worthlessness, failure, and guilt when expectations are not met; it was originally seen as particularly relevant to the development of depression.

Ukraine and Russia are in Europe and they are Europeans. We, the Europeans. include us all and not just Italy.

But I affirm that it was the elitist cabal of warmongers who live overseas who funded this war...and who are keeping paying Ukraine so it's a never-ending war.
So...it's not "Europeans" who started it.

and this has to do with anything I said how? You keep on trying to gain a foot hold here throwing out things you don't really understand, and how could you, by your logic if you don't live in an area you can't understand it, but in reality you just keep digging yourself a deeper hole, that is harder to get out of......

OK I'll play....such a thing exists as European exceptionalism ...ok now what?

Well, then modern warfare is over 4000 years old. It is about a standing army paid by the government. Hence it requires a civilization.

Then I guess that would be "modern warfare," but not necessarily "civilized."

I have always found the term "Modern Warfare" a curious one.... The Qin Dynasty (221–207 bce), for the time, was very advanced and at that time I can only think that the term "Modern Warfare" applied to them. However by comparison to today it is rather antiquated. So what is modern applies to changes as time passes. But then this is likely just me an my occasionally strange view of things

Maybe "industrial warfare" might be a more appropriate term for warfare in more recent times. The World Wars were so horrific due to the kinds of machines and weapons they had, far more devastating than what people had seen in past wars in previous centuries.

I remember Herman Wouk's War and Remembrance had the line "Either war is finished, or we are."

Correct, I forgot Industrial warfare. But that is a recent one. Not more than close to 300 years old.
