How do you determine that one is 'credulous' as opposed to 'an opened-minded skeptic that considers all views'? I suspect it is just your 'unbiased' opinion.
It's the old saying, "Keep an open mind, just not so open your brains fall out." When you go out on a limb to make a claim that has absolutely no rational basis ... well ... you're in danger of having your brains fall out.

So anything that does not accord with 'materialism' has 'no rational basis'? It is not even rational to consider evidence from millions of human experiences or any wisdom tradition in conflict with 'materialism'. Show us where 'rational thinking' is being abandoned.

...and I think we need to add to that statement with 'and not so closed that nothing of value can ever get in'!
That was what I said.

If you can describe a rational basis, please do, if not ... please lower your voice. No, numbers do not count. It is hard to show you where rational thinking is being abandoned since there is no evidence of it having been adopted.

It is based on a system describing the nature of reality formulated by sages and masters of one of mankind's great wisdom traditions. Plus it is reinforced by evidence from the human experience. Sounds like it is rational to give the teachings fair consideration. It seems irrational to me to not give these teachings fair consideration.

I don't consider it closed minded to consider the quality of evidence presented for any claim. And without giving any opinion as to whether or not demons exist, I will say that the mere fact that someone had trouble sleeping after watching "The Exorcist" does not qualify as good evidence for the existence of demons.

Call me close minded and biased for that if you wish, but that is how I see it.

re-check your facts. Fantome, that post was to Sapiens it had nothing to do with you or that guy who watched the movie.

I just re-checked the facts, and it seems that I replied to one of your posts, in which you were replying to one of Sapiens posts, in which he was replying to "that guy who watched the movie".

Wow! It is the year 2015, this is an internet forum - so everyone has computers, access to all of the information possible and thus must be at least somewhat technically literate.

And there is a discussion going on in which many think demons are real! Seems incredible.
