Are the Conservative going to shoot themselves in the foot over same-sex marriage?

A f*ckble h*ckable Finn
went up to the courthouse wherein
He found that in Dallas
he can't marry phallus
Especially black ones like Jim.

I checked. I don't have that many infractions at the moment. I don't expect to be banned.
So, what do you think Rev? Will I ever be as good as you are?

Tom
I generally can't say who is better than whom, but that one was pretty good.

I'll probably vote green party if Sanders does not get the nomination...but I have said this before, even if Sanders get the nomination and loses in the election to the rep, it would still be a victory of sorts. The fact that we would even seriously consider a socialist...

I just heard on Q104 this morning that Christie is going for it.

What year?
2001....the one with the good diesel engine.

Edit:
Ford had another diesel on the market for a few years.
They're widely hated for unreliability.
Thus, I'd never buy a new pickup truck.
They need a service record before I'd trust'm.

Smart shopping. I generally try not to by a first run of production regarding anything if I can help it. Let the impatient consumers hassle with design flaws.

That being said, I've never gotten close to purchase a brand new car. But all considering, I'm not sure why I ever would, unless there just happens to be no more used cars.

I've bought new vehicles in the past.
Never again.
New trailers make sense though.
The kind I like just don't ever show up used.

I fail to see how conservatives are shooting ourselves in the foot by holding to our stated beliefs. Now, if they hadn't responded in such a way, I'd be worried.

Yes, I believe that they are.
Whether it is the Spirit of Liberty or Satan's Minions responsible, a growing majority of voters support equality. And in the Information Age, those sound bites will still be available when Hillary Clinton is running for reelection.

One of the big changes this ruling is going to have is the outing of a bunch of people. Ordinary straight folks who didn't know they knew so many boringly pedestrian gays are going to find out. Mainstreaming of queer culture just took lift. By the next presidential election it will be a different electorate.
Tom

Heck, after the celebration this weekend and seeing so many straight people at Pridefest here, *I* even thought about coming out. And then I looked around the neighborhood, remembered which family members are still alive, took note to who is attending this weekend's family reunion, and then decided it would be better if I came out in the future.

But the very fact that I even contemplated the idea of coming out was landmark.

It's about political power.
If holding onto beliefs results in gaining 49% of the vote, then the opposition candidate which gets 51% will win.
Modifying one's agenda to change 49% to 51% is a winning strategy.
But this is a difficult strategy because of unpredictability.

I'd rather go with the candidate that has integrity than some opportunist who flip-flops out of being power-hungry. If they lose, then at least they lost honestly and can sleep at night with a clean conscience. Whereas the liars have to live with their deceit. Although I doubt it bothers them because they're probably psychopaths, anyway.

Because the statements are ignorant, false and melodramatic, and being made very loudly and publicly. People like Paxton in Texas are making asses and laughing stocks of themselves, conservatives and Christians.

That's your opinion.

Not an opinion, a fact. The comments are ignorant, especially coming from a state attorney general who:
  1. Swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
  2. Should know the Constitution of the United States.

They virtually ignore the Supremacy Clause found in Article Six, Clause two of a document called the "Constitution".

Let's enlighten them.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.

Booyah! US Constitution trumps all state laws. And if the SCOTUS determines that state laws violate the Constitution Booyah!
