However, some have had experiences that differentiate them from other people, and sometimes those experiences deserve recognition.
You mean to say that people should be treated as individuals?
What a radical idea...I like it.

Why isn't Revoltingest over on that thread about "only veterans vote", that was fun... I'm just humanly fine with a lot of veterans, everybody knows a veteran, and they lose everything, they lose mobility, and/or family. But, should I be impressed with our whole System? Why should I be impressed with our whole system? .1% that's the gullible, the gullible, literally, sign up for hatred of **** group of people.

A post from another thread....

In the news....
Trump signs order forgiving student loan debt for disabled veterans
President Donald Trump signed a memo to automatically discharge federal student loan debt for permanently and totally disabled veterans during his visit to Louisville Wednesday, where he addressed more than 1,000 veterans.
Also interesting is that the IRS tax code is different for these vets.
Normally, if a loan is treated as uncollectible, the borrower must
pay income tax on the unpaid principal, & sometimes on unpaid
interest. Trump waived this tax liability for vets...& only for vets.

Note that other disabled people don't get any forgiveness.

Umm veterans are/was military puppets, who where used by political and military leaders to win more ground.
To be fair, the military has done some good things too,
eg, WW1, WW2.
I believe in having a strong military, but also that it should
be used more wisely & less often. Note that I'd never join up,
but I did work on weapons for them (aircraft) as an engineer.

Oh ya, well people go to college free already when they are disabled. Hardly a group I Personally worry about. Sorry.

Korea is the opposite of a 'democratic conflict'. No vote is even taken much less a majority, or passing the Congress, even, a Police Action, by secret Federal level tyrannical type people. Fought not really by our young is it, by our World War 2 Heros, they took World War 2 Europe guys to throw into some place. They're all different eras and problems.

From a (my) Christian perspective, violence is wrong. Therefore being in the military is wrong. I do not think you can love your enemy at gun point. It is not a question of who is "better".
Hmmmmm, Christ disagreed with you.

Two men identified as having great faith, one the greatest faith in Israel, were Roman soldiers. Not just soldiers, but centurions, officers in the Roman army.

He told the Disciples to buy swords, why was that, do you think ?

Agape love does not require one to be a victim, a door mat.

So you’re heartless. Do you want a medal for that ?
Or just recognition of your social value ?
“Nah. Just show me the money”

Honestly, i think the problem is that American Government think they own the world and can do as they please, But they only make the world more evil with more hate and more unstable areas, then they go "clean up" and try to make those areas more ameranized, (IMHO)

Sounds like a reasonable assessment to me.

I can understand not wanting you.

Wait...that came out wrong.....no, it didn't.

Hey, it's the story of my life.

IRL, I don't know any vets who were spit at or called "baby killer".
Nor have any given me grief for being a draft dodger.
The internet is where the hostilities arise for me.

I've known one. When he came back from his tour in Vietnam, he was spat at by someone at the airport, and then he went and signed up for another tour of duty. Nice guy. He was really into plants.

Another guy I knew was a Seabee in Vietnam. He had some interesting stories to tell. I considered him a close friend; he was quite the warhawk. He was also really into conspiracy theories, Bible prophecies, UFOs.
