That some soldiers did horrible, monstrous, evil things to the Vietnamese people (and the land there) is a matter of public record (I can only imagine the stuff we never heard about). Yes, some were baby killers.

Hmmmmm, Christ disagreed with you.

Two men identified as having great faith, one the greatest faith in Israel, were Roman soldiers. Not just soldiers, but centurions, officers in the Roman army.

He told the Disciples to buy swords, why was that, do you think ?

Agape love does not require one to be a victim, a door mat.

Interesting (but false) interpretation - that Christ somehow encouraged or supported violence.

People do forget , that the Austrian Empire was 12 different States and Nationalities. One of those fighting for independence (Serbia?) assassinated Archduke Ferdinand of the Austrians. I think it is totally the worst war for the West ever, for the idea of the West, for Christians, it was Christians fighting without any disputes about Christianity at all, it was Nationalism, the real Final break of The West then, don't you think? So it is fitting our president Woodrow Wilson as a Religious Moral force is in charge of breaking up Empires, an end of imperialism, and the states that exist now in the Balkans. He even wanted to break into Turkey which never happened diplomatically, the Brits did this.

When I served, you could get spit on and called a baby killer. When you got home you did your best to forget about serving. It would take 30 years for them to understand what PTSD was. I've seen newsreels of Americans shooting up Villages in Vietnam and not seeming to understand there were women and children there...

Its all new isn't it, this era of warfare. People also don't realize for Vietnam, Korea, Cambodia, we're so despisable for Bombs. It is a resentment we will never understand and creates such a fear, political power, and problem. Cambodia simply SAW the bombs that Americans were allowed to drop with impunity in Vietnam, which toppled the security of a French Kingdom Cambodia, which led to a horrible home-made application of communism in the khmer rouge.

It was massively televised... I don't know much about it. Jungle warfare is different everybody learns. Women of course can run up to you with bombs.

Maybe some, but not all of them. These were just kids, thrown into situations that even the generals and politicians didn't understand very well.

Ya I think its totally bad for morale. The Force itself is such low morale . I won't go by TV jokes. Everybody escaping the draft at home gets so loud, that makes you what, a prisoner when the draft picks you.

You have degenerated into childish insults. You have no intelligent input to this conversation.
Have some cookies and milk and take a nap.
Maybe slow down on the beer and whiz.

Says the conspiracy theorist who was never on topic. Laters alien man.

Since you obviously have no more argument for your case, you become silly and act like we are som form of Aliens because we do not support the military. Come on.

Webbed fingers and toes or nah?

There are others who put their lives on the line every day for us: police and fire fighters.
They do like to portray themselves as heroes.
But those aren't even the most dangerous professions.

The Top 10 Most Dangerous Jobs in America
Rank Occupation Fatal injuries per 100,000 workers Total deaths
1 Logging workers 135.9 91
2 Fishers and related fishing workers 86 24
3 Aircraft pilots and flight engineers 55.5 75
4 Roofers 48.6 101
5 Trash and recycling collectors 34.1 31
6 Iron and steel wokers 25.1 16
7 Truck and sales drivers 24.7 918
8 Farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers 23.1 260
9 First-line supervisors of construction trades and extraction workers 18 134
10 Grounds maintenance workers

Hey, look....there I am at #10.
Anyone want to thank me for my service?

Or at least what the military told them was right. But we have a rational brain so I do not feel any sympathy for those who volunteer for military service who then whine about things.

I lost a fiance in Vietnam. I saw how the vets were treated when they came home. There is 'whining,' and then there is noticing...and talking about...what actually happens. I SAW vets being spat upon as they exited their planes. I SAW what happened at the funerals of soldiers; it makes what the Westboro Baptist idiots do look tame. I SAW the discrimination in jobs and everywhere else against VietNam vets.

I do not react well to people who call it 'whining' when pointing out that such things happened. Are veterans better than the rest of us? You betcha.

About murder....only women & children matter?

I was barely out of High School. None of us understood much. Here, people my age couldn't get a job because of the likelihood of being drafted. Colleges were packed. I came close to going to Canada but got word that Americans weren't liked up there. There was a lot of noise about the police picking up Draft Avoiders trying to flee to Canada. In the end, I enlisted for an additional year and was assigned to Alaska. Several times I was told to expect orders to go to Vietnam but it never happened.

America, the war monger nation. I think the rich and powerful used the Military to accomplish their international goals... It was criminal.
