Alsalam aleikum and hello everyone
there are 3 kinds of people reactions towards death:
1-people that are afraid even to think about death
2-people that are afraid of death because they had done bad things and want to do good deeds
3-finally the finest people who they know they did everything they can to satisfy God..
so..which kind are you?
bizarre that you think these categories cover everyone... Some impressive religious bias here.
I dont fear 'death' itself as a concept, a thing that happens and exists in our world. I fear my own death, and i think everyone else of sound mind is the same, or else i would have long ago perished from not looking both ways as i cross the street. A base fear that creates the motivation of preservation.
The question of why i fear my own death, well its pretty much rooted in the unknown, and utterly terminal nature of it. To ponder not existing anymore is undoubtedly unsettling. In truth, fear is not the best word here, as theres one form of fear, that instinctual reactionary fear thats not there for any rational reason, simply a result of evolution, and no more alienable than sweating or dilating pupils.
Then theres the unsettling feeling that you can get from pondering things from the armchair. Both apply in their own way, just enough so that life is focused and sharpened, and not too much that one lives in constant despair, although thats not the case for everyone.
