My main goal in citing the racist teacher was to highlight the outlier which is the extremist teacher who may be qualified, and question whether we should arm such an individual. Given the general understanding of wanting to arm teachers who want to be armed, we have not thought about the extremist in this case. The OP alludes that if the teacher is qualified regardless of their belief system which in this case, white nationalism, it should not matter. My argument is thus that anyone who holds supremacist views in a multicultural setting is dangerous. In the case of the link I provided, the teacher willfully deceived the school system and yes you cannot prevent that, but at the same time this teacher kinda gave herself away by exposing her own views. This is the entire point that teachers should not be armed period because we may arm the wrong damn people! Teaching is a stressful job and anyone that is in college or high school knows that these classrooms are filled with stress. Stress in learning the material and stress in expressing the subject matter.

I don't like saying this but sometimes people should not be having serious discussions on online forums if they are going to go extremely left in something so simple.

this proscription has dire implications for cops & the military.
By this standard, no one would be legally armed.

If using racial slurs mean that one shouldn't be armed, that would mean few cops & soldiers could carry arms.
And what about other kinds of slurs? Criminy, no one would be able.

Military is one thing...My kid is not exposed to the military unless they joined...We are talking about schools that is another dynamic for another discussion.

Cops are known to have racists in them LAPD here in California has been exposed and many have been held accountable. The problem with law enforcement is the blue wall and the lack of accountability so proving racists being in the police force is hard to prove unless they expose themselves.

Teachers do not have such a wall hence the teacher who outed herself as a white nationalist. She got exposed, tried to delete her social media and still was busted. There is a level of transparency when it comes to teachers that cops and military do not have.

nationalists is an absurd red herring. If there's a shooting, & the cops are called, they
could have white nationalists among them too. So it's clear that this is an invalid reason

Yes, i agree, racism is extreme. But...i dont think every racist thinks of murder.

But, i think if we prevent all racists from bearing arms, thats dangerous to freedom AND....may even be unnecessary if some racists are not dangerious.
