Ask About Islam

It's not on me to say whether you accept them or not. I am just telling you what is in Islam. Puritanical is not a good word to use for Islam..it is a genuine way of life that is good and will take you closer to your Creator and your place in the hereafter.

People take the easy way out almost any chance they get. Do you not think you are tested in this life? That you are to take it easy and say that God is all love? Who are we to put ourselves above God's laws and commandments? People say, Jesus died for me so I can sin as much as I like and still be forgiven..are people so privileged that you claim God needs to die for them?... It's like it's just so strict yet look at all the problems in the world...then they have the nerve to blame things on God for not helping them. It just never seems enough..
Sharia law seems harsh by western (United States) standards. Yet, US standards seem a bit weak to others, because often the guilty get away with crimes. Harsh penalties discourage crimes.

Many would use the word "puritanical" to describe Islam, but I am not the judge.

But we as laymen, who are we to judge. We did not create God's laws, He did. We got so used to thinking how we want things that many never have taken the time out to find out the true way. Many take things for granted and if they don't like the consequences, they deem it harsh or strict. But in fact, the Bible states many worse things. Like women are not allowed to speak in church or they are not supposed to show their hair etc. these things are all mentioned in the Bible but because of what the preachers are preaching, you don't hear the full story only what they want you to believe. Some say you have to just believe, but that is contrary what Jesus says in the Bible. I studied the Bible and what is inside is in contradiction to what they preach it to be.

From the beginning of mankind until now, God sent Messengers with Books and prophets to spread the meaning of the one true God. Abraham-Suhuf, Moses-Torah, David-Psalms(zaboor), Jesus-Injeel(Gospels) and then the last Mohammad-Quran-the last and final message from God. All professing that there is but One True God.

The oldest religions in the world are not monotheistic at all.

This is the problem.

In Islam, there is a hadith that states:
The hadeeth of Mu‘aawiyah ibn Abi Sufyaan (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood up amongst us and said: “Those who came before you of the people of the Book split into seventy-two sects, and this ummah will split into seventy-three sects, seventy-two of which will be in the Fire and one in Paradise. That is the jamaa’ah (the main body of Muslims).”

This hadith is saying that those who follow the correct path that was proven by Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him) they will enter into Paradise. Whoever deviates from their basic principles and beliefs is the one who deserves to be included among the people of the sects and innovators who go astray.

I follow what Mohammad (pbuh) has brought to us-not what man make up without proof.

How do you marry the idea that only a very small % of humans will qualify for "paradise", while the vast majority that won't did so with the best intentions and as much conviction as the small %, while the vast majority of humanity will be "punished" with the idea of "mercy"?

Yoda would say "No sense, this makes, hmmmm?"

So much for your opening statement concerning "mercy", I guess.

I did not contradict. Nor does our Creator contradict. I did not say that he is all Love. I said He is merciful but if someone is claiming gods unto Him, the only one worthy of worship, there are other sides. Anyone can see that there are consequences to their actions, even children. Why do you have exams in school? Are you not tested? People put themselves too high on the pedestal and take their Creator for granted, but He knows the outcome of everything and one should never underestimate God.

In Islam, one of the names of Allah is The Compassionate, The Merciful. His mercy encompasses all things.

Your other statements however, don't reflect that at all, seeing as how the vast majority of humankind will be tortured for eternity.

What mercy? What compassion?

It doesn't matter what I believe. I am not the judge. What matters is what Allah has said.

A man could be a Muslim all his life and do something that takes him out of the fold of Islam and he will be in hellfire and a man could be doing wrong all his life but before he dies, accepts Allah and his guidance and enter into Paradise. We only say what Allah tells us and has taught us through Mohammad peace and blessings be upon him.

I continue to pray for all of mankind to see the guidance that Allah has sent down.

You dodged the question like a professional dodgeball player.

I don't know where you came up with this, but Adam taught one God, his Creator. This is what Islam is, submission to the only one worthy of worship. The prophets all taught to believe in One God. Those who created other than that, they will be dealt with by their Creator.

If you read what I have been saying, I have not contradicted myself in any way. God's mercy yes, is here and will be shown. We take it upon ourselves to question God but in reality, why do we not question ourselves to be even able to question God.
You hear a message, over centuries have passed, the messages have come down and have been completed. Those who do good will have just rewards coming to them. Those who take it upon themselves not to acknowledge those messages, God will deal with them. People from the Bible, from scriptures have been dealt with by God. Jesus brought nothing new to the table. But when you hear those who preach God is love all the time, it's simply not cohesive with the scripture they are preaching. God does have a wrath and who are we to say He doesn't. Who are we to judge God? Who are we to put forth what we deserve on our terms and not His?

God is a Just God. But His mercy supersedes his wrath.

Reality.
The oldest religions in the world (both extinct and extant) are not monotheistic.
That's just a fact of history.

Adam is a mythical figure. There never were just two humans. As genetics proves.

that is your belief so you can dwell in it.

The end goal is to make it to Heaven to be with our Creator. To believe in His laws and commandments to help us get on the straight path to that journey. In this life, there are trials and tribulations that every being must go through. It is upon ourselves to follow the message that our Creator sent to be able to pass those tests. Many people blame God for their problems, but in reality, people do not realize that they are the problem not God.

It has been the people that have corrupted those messages from before...until the end that was predicted and finalized that Islam is the last and final message...after that no more messengers or prophets will come. It is upon the individual to adhere to it.

Quran 89:22

And thy Lord shall come and the angels rank on rank

This verse refers to another Messenger of God to appear in the last days.

I am quoting hadith, it's not on me to make you believe in it. I quoted truth, you deny it. Not my problem to handle your disbelief.

In Islam, Allah talks about his mercy to mankind, gives a descriptive analysis of it.

May God guide you

This chapter in the Quran is called Al Fajr. Meaning The Dawn

It mentions about the description of the disbelievers. Talks about the situations as well on the Day of Judgment. There is no other new messenger of God to appear after Mohammad pbuh. The verse does not talk about another messenger it is talking about angels on the Day of Judgement and how they will appear in circumstance.

"although we do not see Him [God], but we know He sees us."

Santa has a "naughty and nice" list (so does the CIA, but they use illegal electronic surveilance of US citizens...Google Eric Snowden for more info). Jews use yentas (Get Smart (TV) joked that it stands for Your Espionage Network, Tel Aviv). Santa's internet search was cancelled by parental controls (all he did was Google "naughty or nice)."

Archie Bunker often pointed to God, but didn't want God to see it, so he put his hand over his finger. Presumably, God can see through hands.

Some religions are afraid to write the name of God, so they write G_d. I wonder why they fear their own God, or why their God would be offended to be called by name? Surely God can figure out what is meant by G_d?

Forgiveness is inherent in most religions. It allows people to commit horrible sins (literally getting away with murder). This is why the Mafia still kills and still attends the Catholic church. The Catholic church believes that they don't want to oppress the Mafia or they won't attend, then they won't have any control at all. Frankly, I think that they should control the Mafia.

God sees all and knows all, and we can't disguise or lie about anything. Churches, on the other hand, don't seem to understand.

I feel that if people were to just get off their high horse and stop trying to play God maybe, just maybe they will be able to see what is really out there. They underestimate God in many many ways and then they end up blaming God for their own mistakes. It's easier to place the blame and point the finger than to admit one can be wrong themselves...

One should never say what God is doing or done unless He God himself has said it and done it. Simple : )

US reporters ended their suffering by a "short sharp shock by a cheap and chippy chopper on a big black block." (by Gilbert and Sullivan....Mikado).

Not everyone has the same definition of mercy, nor same conception of God's commandments. Disaster might ensue.

Mercy is defined in Islam. And Allah Himself describes it.

Muhammad Ali (former heavyweight boxer) asserted that Islam is a peaceful religion (not wanting to be punched out, I let that stand). 911 tarnished the reputation of Islamics a bit more. It is odd that American Protestants now seek to join Islam.

The US was attacked because of propaganda.

Many Islamics have propaganda against Israel. I wonder what effect this propaganda will have on Middle Eastern terrorism?

Again, the news out there may not be exactly how you hear it. One can say many things about 9/11 and Islam but not be 100% true..
The false propaganda, the misunderstandings that were taught, the frightfulness OF THE UNKNOWN RELIGION, the scariness of the situation...over how many billions of Muslims in this world and they concentrate on a few that do not describe Islam in the least. The torture the Muslims endure in Palestine-no water, food, children being killed on a daily basis, in the world, yes, these things are NOT known to the West simply because they do not want people to know the truth. There are bad people in every religion, but you don't blame the religion, you blame the people who are doing the wrongdoings.
So, the news is not portrayed correctly-and never will if it is constantly controlled. The media is nothing but spreading more misunderstandings and untruths about Islam. If one wants to know more about the religion, you do NOT go to their enemies to understand it. You find one who knows the truth in the religion and discuss, for in Islam, there is no compulsion.

I live in Abu Dhabi, outside Dubai, I see from the outside looking in...it's a whole new bag of potato chips.
