Atheist Desire to Disprove God

I think the blue ones are not beliefs in strict sense. They are factual knowledge based on agreed references.

The red one is different.

...

All three statements follow the same form. If the "therefore" work for one, it works for all three.

Singularities are perfectly describable. You merely have to be careful about the questions you ask of them.

Got an equation for that?

For the singularity to be truly singular.....
no space.... no time...no light...heat....movement....etc....etc....

The void.
In the beginning........

There's your singularity. If you plot that function, you end up with a funnel shape. I could tell you the slope of the funnel at any point you wanted, except if you asked me about the center of the funnel, where there is no slope. Just because there isn't a slope there doesn't mean that the whole thing can't exist.

And this is where an atheist would call my thinking...mythical.

For a singularity to be singular....no geometry allowed.

A singularity is a purely geometrical concept.

It is not.
More than one point is needed for geometry.
You have no function with only one point.
Except, a possible claim of existence.

But that would be philosophical.....perhaps theological.

You can do geometry on the empty set, it just doesn't get you anywhere. However, I think the singularity you are thinking of isn't in the empty set. It's the point of a 4D cone, and so it makes absolutely no sense to say that there are no points.

I believe that I'm an atheist, therefore being an atheist is a belief.
I believe that I'm 6 feet tall, therefore being six feet tall is a belief.
I believe that I speak English, therefore speaking English is a belief.

May be. I shall, however go by colours. :)

I know that I'm 6 feet tall, I have measured my height.
I speak English. That is how i interact.

I believe that God that theists talk of does not exist.

Anyway, there is no big issue. Since you may still believe that you know that God does not exist.

"When I reached intellectual maturity and began to ask myself whether I was an atheist, a theist, or a pantheist; a materialist or an idealist; Christian or a freethinker; I found that the more I learned and reflected, the less ready was the answer; until, at last, I came to the conclusion that I had neither art nor part with any of these denominations, except the last. The one thing in which most of these good people were agreed was the one thing in which I differed from them. They were quite sure they had attained a certain "gnosis,"–had, more or less successfully, solved the problem of existence; while I was quite sure I had not, and had a pretty strong conviction that the problem was insoluble.

So I took thought, and invented what I conceived to be the appropriate title of "agnostic." It came into my head as suggestively antithetic to the "gnostic" of Church history, who professed to know so much about the very things of which I was ignorant. To my great satisfaction the term took."Thomas Henry Huxley

So you do realize.....
your number system can't reach that far.

More than one point can determine a line.
An infinite number of points between them.

Infinity exists...the 'moment' a secondary point is made.

For the singularity to be singular....no secondaries allowed.

Now then.....how about that void?
In the beginning......

And yet so much of it can actually happen.

Picture yourself sitting at a campfire .....listening to the story about the Garden.

When you get to the part about cutting a man open and removing a rib....
can you believe it?

If you think you have problems going a long for the ride....with all that you think you know....
how about those 'simple' people of so long ago?

A sleeping man is cut open....his rib removed....and he lived?
Really?

And yet....nowadays....we know it could happen.

They believed.
They didn't know what you do.....but they believed.

So what's holding you back?

You really want to know what's holding me back from becoming a Christian?

Christians.

Yes, really. Your post above is a prime example of why Christians are so off-putting. Can't Christ save you without making you believe a bunch of bronze age campfire blarney first? If not, why not?

Not about Christ or salvation.

And you would deny believers...before Christ.....their faith?

Each time you post ....all I ever see is a cop out...or redirection.
