Aussies to vote soon on whether to make gay marriage legal

I got a letter from the local bishop last Sunday at Church. He hopes we vote "No". Dont see a problem with that.

Is this the same bishop who pledged to protect pedophiles? He was from Australia.

I don't consider myself terribly liberal. But yeah, that is how I see it.

Like you can be against gay marriage, that's your right. But I fail to see why that has to mean you oppose or vote no to make civil gay marriage legal in a societal sense. I mean the vote is not should gays get married in a Catholic Cathedral.
