Is this the same bishop who pledged to protect pedophiles? He was from Australia.I got a letter from the local bishop last Sunday at Church. He hopes we vote "No". Dont see a problem with that.

Hardly the same thing. But liberals will portray this as part of the tearful journey to emancipation. Racism then sexism and now homophobia.Yes, like people who are against interracial marriage tend to be called racists.
but they will never ask you such a thingIf the legislation contained a clause that said the Catholic Church had to perform gay marriages, then I'd fight against that by your side.
you don't see the connect do you? Its slippery slope whether you like it or not. We are living in a world where everyone is more aware of their rights than their responsibilities. And where the hell did transgendered toilets come from? What does that have to do with anything?
I don't consider myself terribly liberal. But yeah, that is how I see it.Hardly the same thing. But liberals will portray this as part of the tearful journey to emancipation. Racism then sexism and now homophobia.
That deserves a thread on its own. Thanks for reminding me.Next on the agenda, ageism
Isn't the slippery slope a logical fallacy though?you don't see the connect do you? Its slippery slope whether you like it or not. We are living in a world where everyone is more aware of their rights than their responsibilities.
???but they will never ask you such a thing
No it is. In fact all of your arguments so far are dead ringers for the ones people had about interracial marriage. Like it's kinda eerie, not going to lie.Hardly the same thing. But liberals will portray this as part of the tearful journey to emancipation. Racism then sexism and now homophobia.
because its over the top, extreme, unrealistic
There are already several. That deserves a thread on its own. Thanks for reminding me.
start a new one? There are already several.
I'll bump one and tag you.
Tom
Much like your arguments against gay marriage so far, to be frank.because its over the top, extreme, unrealistic
so did the Catholic Church advise us not to marry other races? I don't think that has ever been the case. My wife is another race anyway. sorry as much as you'd like to say its the same, its not.No it is. In fact all of your arguments so far are dead ringers for the ones people had about interracial marriage. Like it's kinda eerie, not going to lie.
I'm doing my best to fill in a huge hole in this forum. That of the conservative, traditional voice. Looks like I'm on my own.Much like your arguments against gay marriage so far, to be frank.
I said your arguments not the Church.so did the Catholic Church advise us not to marry other races? I don't think that has ever been the case. My wife is another race anyway. sorry as much as you'd like to say its the same, its not.
No you're using hyperbole, victim status and unreasonable illogical arguments. If that is the voice of the traditional conservative then I don't wonder why they often get left behind in each generation.I'm doing my best to fill in a huge hole in this forum. You guys have said nothing to convince me that gay marriage is a good idea. So insult away if you like. But it just means you're desperate.I said your arguments not the Church.
Hey mate I don't care if your amazing intelligence cant fathom my pov. I will let it be your problem. No you're using hyperbole, victim status and unreasonable illogical arguments. If that is the voice of the traditional conservative then I don't wonder why they often get left behind in each generation.
Like you can be against gay marriage, that's your right. But I fail to see why that has to mean you oppose or vote no to make civil gay marriage legal in a societal sense. I mean the vote is not should gays get married in a Catholic Cathedral.
