And rest assured, that those of us who may scream more quietly and subtly still scream nonetheless.

Glad to hear, but I'd bet $100 that I'm the only one who has written my Congressman! (Congresswoman actually) I'd bet I am the only one in this thread to speak out more than just here! (I spoke at work, at home, and tomorrow at school... facebook, RF)

AM I WRONG?

I am glad to say that you are indeed wrong. I also made a few of my speeches in my public speaking class about political issues. As for my Congressional Rep, the dummies in his office still have not realized that there has been a different name from this mailing address for a few years now, and the political views of the constituent of this address have radically changed. Why on earth would I care about his anti-gay propaganda when I have sent in letters expressing that a gay marriage ban is unconstitutional, and many of the states largest corporations are against amending the state constitution. His assistants either do not care, or really are dummies for sending me material about how "worthy the crusade to defend marriage is." And when I had a FB, I used to talk about things, but I think it would have been more effective to talk to a room full of monkeys about it.
So you can hand that $100 bucks over now.:p

Keep speaking. The internet cried out in a single voice against SOPA and PIPA, but someone had to cry out against them, first.

But that was a looming threat not yet reality. This one has been going on for years. As it took a long time to get to this point, it will take a long time to bring them down.

But I must scream quietly because I have a very small social network. I don't have Facebook, I don't have a job, I'm taking this semester off, etc.

Your 4th, 5th, and 9th Amendment Constitutional Rights are being infringed upon further! Nay voters are traitors to The People's Rights! Write your Reps and let them know the will of The People!

Amash Amendment On NSA Data Collection: House Roll Call Vote

How long will We The People let our RIGHTS be denied?

I've been mad since the Patriot Act...
Then I was even more outraged with the NDAA 2012

Now all of a sudden Snowden releases information on the NSA (which more than half of America didn't even know existed). All of a sudden people are outraged.
where have you all been?

That all outraged me as well... the Patriot Act was taken with a bit of salt since it was so close to 9-11 et al.... The line has been DRAWN IN THE SAND now...

I haven't seen too much of that; from what I have seen people are more likely to over-react and think people are coming for their guns when they aren't. Afterall, Obama is always coming for your guns, even though gun policies were generally relaxed under his first term and into his second.

I do love how the "they're comin' fir ar guns!" crowd only speaks up when some regulations on certain guns (but absolutely not all guns) are discussed, but is oddly quiet when all their other rights are actively compromised.

Sheeple will follow where they are told. People will stand their ground.

There's a reason I took the name of "wolf"; I naturally follow more sheep-like tendencies. I took the name of wolf as an attempt to carve my own destiny as befits my Pack, but not to sit idly by when the Alpha makes a bad call or when the hunters fail to bring food back.

I haven't quite succeeded, yet. But I'm definitely better than I was.

Bricks tend to be inert & long lasting. They do occasionally crack a joke however.

Perhaps you've not been reading all my posts, eh?

Nope. ^_^

My post was mostly tongue-and-cheek, though, referring more to the fact that there was a huge hullabaloo over the whole gun-control thing, but there doesn't seem to be quite the same enthusiasm over the other rights.
