Now that the satire thread has been relegated to the joke section, I could use a nice microbrew and good scrub in the tub. I feel so slimy after playing such a cad. Thanks for the help out in that thread, Magog.

Prost! :drunk:

I have actually never consumed beer, I have never found any over 60 proof so Whiskey and Rum have always been my favorites

Hey, any one care to recommend any American Pale Ales, preferably ones available in Blighty?

All this hot weather makes a person thirsty...

I just discovered Smithwick's. I am a huge fan. It might be my new go-to, every day drinking sort of beer.

I am a fan of all things New Belgium. I think Fat Tire is a great beer and their 1514 has a great strong flavor. They had another good one in a variety pack, I think it is the one called Springboard. It has high alcohol content and is brewed with Goji berries and an herb called Schisandra. It's god damn good.

I can only hope I have the money to spare when fall comes so I can try their seasonal pumpkin beer :D

I love pumpkin beer!!!

Uhuh

I think it was teh Samuel Adams seasonal pumpkin beer that I thought was pretty good. The Blue Moon one is fine, but not great. Besides, Blue Moon is actually made by Molson-Coors. Basically, its an alleged effort to infiltrate the craft beer market.

Namaste,

Leffe and Anchor Steam FTW!

M.V.

Both good choices. Leffe is one of my go-tos. My favorites are La Fin du Monde and Boddington's.

Magog, I can't recommend any pale ales unfortunately, since it's not one of my preferred types. I don't dislike them, but I'm not very knowledgeable in them.

I like La Fin du Monde, but mostly because it comes in an awesome bottle. And a cork. Corks are fun.

Ooooo Boddingtons....
When I lived in Manchester in the early 80s Boddies was a local independent brewer making tasty beer. Since presumably being taken over the recipe must have been changed to broaden the appeal. As my friend says, it's like sex in a boat (ie fukkeen close to water).

IMO.

This has happened many times. I used to love Ruddles County and Bass too, but these days they are insipid shadows of their former selves.

I like cider, especially Woodchuck.

That was my in between step, between the obligatory Mike's Hard Lemonade stage and the big bad world of Real Beer. :D

But yeah, sometimes I still get a hankerin' for a cider. It's also good mixed with pale, light beers, like Harps for a half-and-half, less sweet sensation.

As far as actual beer goes, I like Heineken, Moosehead, Red Stripe, and Dos Equis.
