Hello everyone

Just curious why some Christians are against polygamy since Bible allow that !
I don't find a clear evidence from Bible forbid polygamy. on contrary it's allow, Bible tells that many prophet and messangers married many wives at same time.

Was Jesus (pbuh) never forbid that in Bible ?

God did permit and regulate polygamy for a time. However, Christ reinstated God's original standard of monogamy, according to the Bible. Matthew 19:8 says; "[Christ] said to them: “Out of regard for your hard-heartedness, Moses made the concession to you of divorcing your wives, but that has not been the case from the beginning. I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except on the grounds of sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery.” Verses 4-6 state: "In reply he [Jesus] said: “Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said: ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh’? So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart."

Searching and seeking is fine with me on a personal note.
I read about the "Religion of Peace" almost daily so as to understand
the tenants of Islam, and Radical Islam.
Searching and seeking is better way to know more.

As rusra stated above, Jesus said that monogamy is the original intent of God when He created man and woman. A man is only supposed to have one wife.

Also, in the USA we hold women as equal to men in every respect, unlike most of your Muslim countries, where men are clearly superior. We do not subject our women to being forced into any sort of relationship they don't want and marrying more than one woman causes problems that we would just not want to deal with. You don't have to deal with such problems in most of your Muslim countries as women pretty much have no rights and are not equal with men. Women are not property and should not be treated as such.

As for whatever Mohammed taught and believed we do not hold any of his teachings as sacred and we do not even recognize him as a prophet, but rather a false prophet. I hope that helps.

Matthew 10
32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

So as you can see, since Mohammed denied that Jesus is the Son of God we do not regard him as a prophet but a non-believer and a false prophet just like anyone else who teaches that Jesus is/was not the Son of God.

Sorry my belief has no relate to my OP lol

I'm just trying to explain to you why we don't see eye to eye on it and never will. We are of a totally different mindset. About the only thing we have in common is that we are both theists. Outside of that we differ as day and night about nearly everything.

With all respect

I disagree, my belief had nothing to do with my OP.
