The point Jesus was making is that monogamy is the standard for Christians.

I understand it the first verse was talking for divorce, so man should not marry divorced woman , for second verse its talking about man and woman marriage, so man linked to his wife, so man would leave his parent .

can you please elaborate, how it's about monogamy ?

Where did Jesus ever teach that one should marry more than one woman? If you can answer that question using Bible scripture to do so, then please do so. If you cannot then you must take the realistic stance that Jesus was teaching that a man is only to be married to one woman in Matthew 19.

Jesus quoted from Genesis to show God's purpose was for each man to have one wife. They were to be "one flesh". Only after man's fall into sin did polygamy begin.

Polygamy early on became common, although Jehovah did not originate nor encourage the practice. He did for a time tolerate and regulate the practice for the protection of those involved.(Deuteronomy 21:15-17) By means of his Son, Jehovah removed this practice from true worshippers, restoring the divine standard of one husband and one wife. As 1 Corinthians 7:2 affirms; "let each man have his own wife and each woman have her own husband." Thus, I believe true Christians avoid the practice of polygamy.

Hello everyone

Just curious why some Christians are against polygamy since Bible allow that !
I don't find a clear evidence from Bible forbid polygamy. on contrary it's allow, Bible tells that many prophet and messangers married many wives at same time.

Was Jesus (pbuh) never forbid that in Bible ?

You are correct. The bible does not forbid having more than one wife. The only restrictions for only having one wife is in the New Testament concerning qualifications for Deacons and Pastors. You have to admit though that multiple wives did cause a lot of headaches for those Old Testament prophets. Sarah and Hagar is a good example of the family feuds that carry on for generations. Can you imagine getting yelled at by more than one wife at the same time. No thanks, as I said in another thread, "one is more than enough for me". But , if among consenting adults there is no place I can find that God forbids it. ;)

Well, your question was whether God forbid it in the bible, not personal opinion. And fact is, God did not forbid it. Did God change His mind? I don't think so. :)

Jesus forbids it and He is God's Son, the very radiance of God's glory.

God never changed His mind. Jesus quoted Genesis. God never intended for a man to have more than one wife and God never stated that having more than one wife is a good thing.

Did God said to them why do you marry more than one wife!?

I heard that there is may 40 persons mentioned in Bible did the polygamy.include Abaraham(pbuh)

If polygamy was a sin why He didn't inform them ?

If Jesus Christ is the Son of God why didn't Mohammed tell you?
