Bible and polygamy

His purpose seems clear enough. He is here to debunk one man for one woman.

Im also patiently waiting formhim to answer my question.

I think it's a good topic for discussion. I am not an advocate for polygamy. But for the sake of the question, I don't see where the bible expressly forbids it except in the case of deacons and Pastors. I am interested in your take on it that Jesus forbid it and what verse of scripture He did. Respectfully.

I'll second that. I have had many conversations with Godobeyer and whether he agrees with me or not, he has always been respectful and kind.
Thank you David :)
you are so kind too , you may remember, that I told RF need more persons like you ?
I was very happy that you enjoy us at that time :)

For OP, some posters made feel that I am who invented (inserted) the polygamy in Bible :D
I do believe polygamy was exist in three Abrahamic religions (as solution) not to make problems in community.

The quotes made by Jesus are here. You just choose to redefine or ignore them in favor of what you think is right. Sorry, but following Jesus Christ doesn't work that way. I do hope you see the light and embrace it in the future and I will pray for you.

Well, polygamy is illegal here in the US and you aren't going to change that because most Christians here do not feel as you do. Jesus said what He said and since you choose to believe Mohammed rather than Jesus I have no desire to hear your opinions, anyway.

I guess people will bend the verses to their script until Jesus comes back and institutes His kingdom. Even so, come back, Jesus!

- My OP was about Christianty (Bible) views not how the Christians practice it or politic.

-Ok,why insist to speak about my beliefs ? anyway, I do believe in Jesus (pbuh) by my maner, and I am very convinced that I am correct on that way, why that bother you ?

-If you don't have desire to hear my opinions, there is opinion called "ignore list".

Well I do appreciate prayers from anyone. I hope you mean that sincerely. I do not pretend to know everything and am not trying to be offensive to anyone. My answer concerning this is as I understand from scripture, that is that God didn't necessarily condone polygamy but at the same time, He did not condemn it. You say that Jesus condemnation of it is in scripture. Perhaps you are correct, but I am unaware of it. I ask you again to please provide me with a particular scripture. Again, I appreciate the prayers.

Matthew 19
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Therefore it is clear that Jesus was talking about one man and one woman only, as the Pharisees were. Note that Jesus did not use the plural of wife but clearly indicated that a man should be united to one woman as his wife and that they should become one flesh - not united to 3 or 4 to become one flesh but only one wife.

Mohammed taught that NT scripture is incorrect so Muslims do not accept Jesus' teaching from the NT as we do. Of course Christians believe in the gospels so Mohammed taught heresy as far as Christians are concerned.

Brother, be careful that you are not deceived by non-Biblical teaching. This Muslim is an unbeliever and therefore we believe he has no part with us in Christ. His curiosity is good but his teaching is not.

So God changes his mind about what is moral and what is not over time?

Is that why God thought slavery was A-OK for a while?

Perhaps one day God won't be so pissed about the gay and transgendered people?
Jehovah has not changed his mind regarding polygamy. He has tolerated conduct not in harmony with his will until his time to set matters straight, IMO. (Isaiah 2:4) As Romans 9:22 says; "What, then, if God had the will to demonstrate his wrath and to make his power known, and he tolerated with much patience vessels of wrath made fit for destruction?" The sin that has spread from Adam has resulted in all manner of evil practices, none of which God approves.

Really? You believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, he died on a cross and rose again 3 days later? I was under the impression that Mohammed taught that Jesus was just a prophet and the NT scripture concerning Him is incorrect. Certainly Mohammed didn't believe the NT. Are you claiming that you do believe it?
