I appreciate that so many of you guys ride.

I've had several life changes happen lately and haven't spent as much time on the bike I would like, but here is a brief rundown of my previous commuters:

This group has a collective 3,000 miles or so on it, the last bike owning 2/3 of that claim.

Of course!
But I make me own scrounged copy.

Wish I still had mine....but someone stole it!
24inch splice with Sturmey Archer three speed and brake in hub.
4ft 'sissy' bar.
banana seat (of course)
skinny tire up front
fat tire for drive
standard handle bar upside down
black

oh yeah! ....customized!

Mine had a bunch of parts, with a really crappy banana seat.
Parts is parts.

My bike:

XTC 27.5 0 (2015) | Giant Bicycles | Canada

Although mine's a few years older, and white.
Mine's a Giant, too, but a lot less expensive model.
It's got fenders so I don't get wet on wet streets and a rear rack I can load things on, or even strap on a stylish milk crate for larger loads. I've also got collapsible wire panniers hanging from the rack big enough for a couple bags of groceries.
It's all about practical.

Mine was from some German company and I wish I still had mine too, I could not ride it, and it would be ticking off the misses if I had an old bike hanging around...but I still wish I had it

I bought my kid a Giant when he was little. It seemed wrong.
