Biden the dolt backs 40% pay raise for union UAW workers.

Well, as long as he supports a 40% pay raise for all of America's workers, then okay. But if they get 40% while the rest of us have to pound sand, that's another matter entirely.
I'm not an expert on this, but I think this quote from the article is part of the reason for the demand for raises: "He was referring to a 2009 government bailout of U.S. automakers that included wage cuts." So it appears their wages were cut, by I don't know what percentage. I was disappointed that the article didn't give more info about the actual circumstances.

Exactly.

If he is smart, which he isn't, he would have condemned the 40% self raise by the ceo as unalgamated greed and screwing the auto workers..

Instead, he obviously egged on and went for the union workers to be as greedy as the ceo is, and of course screw all other blue collar workers in the nation.

Some actual facts:

The vast disparity in pay between workers and their bosses is one of the UAW’s biggest bones of contention.

  • General Motors CEO Mary Barra made $29m in 2022 – 362 times the median wage of $80,034 at the company.
  • Ford CEO Jim Farley made $21m in 2022 – 281 times the median worker of $74,691.
  • Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares made $24.8m in 2022 – 365 times the average worker’s $67,789 wage.
CEO pay at the big three companies jumped by 40% between 2013 and 2022. Meanwhile, auto manufacturing workers have seen their average real hourly earnings fall 19.3% since 2008, according to the Economics Policy Institute.

Starting wages at GM’s Ultium Cells battery plant in Lordstown, Ohio, are just $16.50, according to the UAW. Meaning it would take 16 years for a full-time worker to earn what Barra earns in a week.

Horrible, he is actually supporting working people. That is just not allowed. You can pretend to support them, but to actually do it is outrageous.
He's supporting exclusively union people. Classic cronyism. Screw anyone else.

If Biden was truly supportive of working class people , he wouldn't be addressing unions alone on matters of enabling reasonable living wages that all working class folks everywhere can benefit from.

He just wants exclusive union support for his own agenda.

Yep. Why just unions?

How about helping the rest of the working class in the nation who can barely pay for their needs in this day and age? Union and non union alike.

When union wages go up wages go up across the board.

I don’t get it.
Is what Biden said a bad thing or something?
And of course a politician will say things to get a vote. That’s literally their job lol
I don't see Biden willfully visiting non union factories around the nation supporting higher pay and benefits. ?!!???

It's not that he is saying bad things, just he is openly pandering towards 'too big to fail' major unions that will clearly support his own political interests in exchange for exclusive favors in a "rub my back , I'll rub yours" chum fest.

It's just a dog and pony show that only appeals to certain groups with a specific goal of mutual benefit at the exclusion of the uninvited rest who are not a part of the club.

Supporting Unions should help everyone. Not only does this raise economic activity for the people who benefit, but it means that other businesses have to compete with these wages.

What are your other suggestions for how Biden could help the working class?
