Biden will win

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I see. Why is New York usually Blue, if I may ask?

I think its due to political entrenchmemt. A lot of people depend on Democrats for social programs and Union members are all intertwined in political funding and returned favors for support.

In other words lobbying and special interest plays a key role in that entrenchment. Everyone else not unionized or supportive are ignored in this state. Most of this is due to NYC where most of this happens and a lot of people to the west would love to see the state permanently separate from NYC.

Thats how I personally see things here.

I have watched this election with popcorn in hand all the way through and I’m still somewhat baffled by your electoral system ngl.

We have 538 "votes" divided among all of the states. Calif has 55 because of its population. Most states are all or nothing, so Calif because it is heavily democratic will always give 55 votes to whoever is running as a democrat. Other states are more equally divided so are more likely to support either candidate. That's usually the states the candidates go after.

Electoral College - Ballotpedia

The magic number is 270, 538/2 + 1. Some states divide their votes. It is up to each state to go all in for one candidate or divide up the votes. So as you win a state whatever votes that come with that state get awarded to you. Add up all of the states you've won. Once you've reached 270 you win. :)

Just guessing but East/West coast metropolitan high pop areas are more dependent on the government for resources. Rural areas like the middle states people are less reliant on the government for resources.

Why has Arizona been declared as Democrat when under 90% of the votes have come in ?

Not sure, although I heard on the radio that the Arizona Secretary of State said that it was premature to call Arizona just yet.

I've always seen politics as a game planned by the master puppeters for the masses... People will never have the power, only those who have connections, power and money and the game keeps rolling on for the masses, same old, same old story. Take for example USA, people vote Biden because they want to get rid of Trump, they don't vote Biden for what he represents and this is how you get tricked into playing the game and even making a forced move because even the options given to you are already placed in such a way that you have no better choice... Choose the lesser evil or the greater evil? This is the process people go through when they vote.... people from all over the world where there is a democracy, same old, same old story..

I've changed my mind about supporting a popular vote. Right now it doesn't matter who I vote for in Calif. Our 55 votes will always go to the Democrat unless something drastically changes.

So, I take it you’re not a fan of “the dems?”
This leads me to my follow up question.
If all your state votes go to the candidate you don’t support, why bother voting? How is that democratic?
(I’m seeing now why I saw so many campaigns urging people to simply vote, from both sides.)
