So, I take it you’re not a fan of “the dems?”
This leads me to my follow up question.
If all your state votes go to the candidate you don’t support, why bother voting? How is that democratic?
(I’m seeing now why I saw so many campaigns urging people to simply vote, from both sides.)

Not a fan of either party. I vote independent or Libertarian.
I feel both are more worried about their political power than representing the interests of the citizens.

We still have local elections and propositions, usually asking for more taxes, on the ballot as well.

As predicted, Trump supporters are already crying foul and organizing protests, claiming that the election is being stolen.
I imagine that we might be in store for some domestic terrorism.

Just read that Georgia has 5% uncounted, thats 250,000 votes and Trump is only 40,000 ahead, and most of the uncounted votes are in heavily Democratic districts.. North Carolina has 5% uncounted too, but they said they won't release any more results till next week, what gives there, Republican state government.

Selflessly here for you
Trump supporters identify every Democrat as a socialist

Thank you for clarifying.

I find it potentially problematic to use that term about him because to my knowledge, US Democrats are not socialists. At least not by European definition.

I hear things like, that many US citizens from dictatorship countries, (calling themselves socialist, but in fact being communist) were massively put off from voting for Biden, because people kept saying that anything but Trump was “socialism”, “radical left”, etc.

That is tragic, I feel.

Ps. I am myself a liberalist, not a socialist, but I would like to say that pure socialism is not - and does not inevitably lead to - communism.

I rated 'funny', albeit the second sentence sounds really bad for america (it's what you get when almost half of america are psychotics)

Trump already made that mistake. If Biden does win, I'm sure we'll hear the constant screeching of cheating accusations and other wacky conspiracy theories.
Even if the Trump dumpster fire is extinquished, the widespread mentality of willful ignorance, intellectual dishonesty, scientific illiteracy, superstition, homophobia, misogyny, racism, etc. that ignited it in the first place is still widespread; it's a malignant tumor killing this country. Damn near killed it tonight.

That said, the burning nappies left from Trump's presidency will not die away quickly, Biden's presidency will be basically just a guy moping the floor for most of the time. Starting with right now when Covid is getting worse over there, and all the Trump supporters who will continue to be the arsehole of america on display afterwords.

I have watched this election with popcorn in hand all the way through and I’m still somewhat baffled by your electoral system ngl.

Yeah, it is a bit nuts. It was born of compromise to give more power to the slave states to convince them to join the union. We are sadly stuck with that archaic system since it is in our Constitution. Fixing it would take away some of the power of states with low population numbers. And it is hard to convince people to give away power once they have it.

Yay! No more Trump! Biden has 253 votes as soon as he hits 270 it's over for Trump who is planning a bunch of lawsuits now.

Woohoo no more Trump!
I don't know about you but I've had my guts in knots for two days. I could do with a holiday in Oregon after that. ;)

Me too, and Oregon used to be my vacation stomping grounds, before I stopped going on vacations.

I have never had this much invested in an election.... I have almost completely forgotten about God and religion. ;)
My husband can hardly believe it because he has been trying to get me to follow politics for years.

I'm kind of still in shock in regards to my own feeling. I'm not sure how I will feel after this election. But that feeling of suspense... I didn't foresee it.

How I will feel depends upon who wins. ;)

The feeling of suspense is nearly killing me. The horror of Trump winning was like a bad dream last night, and then I woke up to better news, but now I just hope that bad dream does not come true.

It's not over till it is over.

There's a very real chance it can be decided by the House.

I'm hoping Biden can win Pennsylvania, because if he wins there (and there are plenty of expected Dem votes to come in) it's over. He wins it all. If Trump wins there, he still has to win most of the remaining states to win.

I wonder how Alaska feels in all this? I mean, it's still counting, but NO one every mentions it.
