Britain out of the EU

Meanwhile Scotland and even Northern Ireland voted to stay.

This seriously means that the bat**** crazy Northern Irelanders are more sane than the Welsh. Because they know where all the money came from that they got. And they also know that London doesn't care one bit about them.

So funny. :)

Yeah, so Boris for PM? Farage for Queen?

Farage for Emperor of the United Kingdom of England and Wales, likely.

Well, I'm glad the majority sided with the Leave column...

Interpret it like you want. I think the country is going down the toilet.

Bandwagon and appeal to authority all in one go. What a pathetically irrelevant point you're making.

Why don't you present an argument instead? That way we can have an intellectual discussion about it.

Not sure I can have one with you. Judging by previous conversations you had with other members, I'm not going to waste my time.

Also, I agree it is an appeal to authority, but if we cannot make a rational decision with the aid of authority (experts in the fields) then by what are we making a decision from? The facts I read about are from those experts. I'd rather side with people who know what they're talking about rather than listen to Joe Pleb down the road who knows nothing about economics or the way the EU functions.

Grim news to wake up to, but not surprising. Neither was it surprising to see Farage admit that claiming we'd spend the £350mn we'll now "save" on the NHS was a mistake. Who could've possibly called that? We did!

Pretty glad the majority of my fellow Scots saw sense and now we can bring on indyref 2!! :D

As an aside: WHAT THE ****, WALES?!!!

Can I move there, pretty please? I love tartan prints and kilts! :kissingcat:

I'm going to suggest that the SNP put candidates up south of the border.
I have absolutely no confidence in Labour taking this opportunity to get back in power.

Go ahead and present an argument.

A rational decision about a political process? How can this be accomplished?

The facts I read about are from those experts. I'd rather side with people who know what they're talking about rather than listen to Joe Pleb down the road who knows nothing about economics or the way the EU functions.

Well I'm completing my BA Econ at the moment and have read extensively about the EU's structures.

Now please present the facts from the experts that convince you Brexit is bad.

We will stay in the Single Market, as advised by the Civil Service and the banks, and Sterling stability will restore itself along with consumer/firm confidence.

How do you propose we'll stay in the Single Market since one of the basic rules is we'll have to accept the freedom of movement - especially since the Brexit campaign was so obsessed over immigration? If we can't even do that there's no single market access for us and we're in a much, much weaker position to negotiate than we were at this time yesterday.

OK, being pedantic, but which laws passed to comply with EU directives will we now start to repeal?

Few if any of them will be repealed.
though over time some might need to be amended.
However there will need to be many new ones.
Parliament is going to be exceedingly busy.
Most of the existing EU regulations will need to stay in place, if we are to trade in the single market.
Even free movement is one of those conditions for all trading partners.

Nicola Sturgeon on TV, it sounds like she will push for Scotland to remain in the EU and also for another Scottish independence referendum.

Martin McGuinness hinting at future NI referendum on a united Ireland.
