So your idea of British values is simply unfettered free speech? I thought you were going for broader set of values. I don't know enough about this guy to make an informed decision about him. In fact, I have never heard of him.
Restricting hate speech is a thorny issue, and I don't know how any government can truly sort that out. If one broke the law simply by saying things that were not true, then our president (USA) would have been in jail long ago. But we do have libel and slander laws here. I wish they were more effective.

So this is a man who denies the holocaust, then? We have plenty of them here. Neo-Nazis are a thing lately, it seems.

I had never heard of him, but she gave me the impression that she didn’t know much more about him than I did. Nevertheless, she wanted him banned from the UK.

Her argument seemed to be that because our Home Secretary had previously banned Robert Spencer from entering the UK she should jump on the bandwagon.

She tried to ban the President of the USA because she doesn’t like him either.

I wonder if he will sue her as was mentioned, because I can’t find anything about him denying the holocaust. If he has, surely, he would not have been allowed into the country anyway.

The message seems to be that if a politician doesn’t think someone is conducive to good race-relations they should not be allowed to speak. This cannot be right in a free society.

If we have a divided nation, it is the politicians that caused it and now they think the answer is to shutdown free speech. That sounds like Sharia.

I don't equate limited free speech just with Sharia, although that is the case with regard to it. Other forms of government certainly restrict free speech to varying degrees, including communism, Fascism, theocracies, etc.

As to the president of my country, I would have been happy if the queen had shot him on arrival. LOL That's not because I have an issue with him expressing his views, but because his views when expressed reflect on the rest of us who do not agree with them. I regard him as an ill-informed, racist, narcissistic jack-***.

Politicians banning people from visiting the country just because they do not like them is going too far for a so-called democracy.

There is a big difference between visiting and staying. We are short of some Donald Trump backbone in the UK.
Well...definitely...no offense.
It seems to me that your politicians are scared to death to speak out against that religion...and foreigners who do that are banned.
Our politicians completely loosen up...and nobody cares...like this senatrix in this video

It's the PC culture and backlash it can bring to bare over the slightest infraction of their ideological standard.

Jon Gaunt is right about the state of the British Police Force Service. All the Police Stations in my area have been closed. If I managed to find one that was still open, I doubt that I would be able to report a crime. If I were allowed to enter, they would probably tell me to phone the non-emergency number in the hope of being connected.

I heard recently that because of the horrendous crime levels in the UK, the police have been authorised to increase their Stop & Search activities but I can’t help thinking that this is what they mean.

No...I think the situation of Britain is that they have such a thick infiltration of those people (even in the Parliament) that they act as if someone was pointing a knife to their throat.

This man has some strong opinions about the current state of the UK’s law enforcement and common sense compels me to agree with his opinions.

The knife is media and the outrage industry from PC culture. It influences the public thus perception of politicians.

Nice- let's say the average Italian is much more outspoken over the issue.
