Can Atheists and Theists ever acknowledge each other.

You are misunderstanding me.

You expect proof of something that you will not search out for yourselves.
Now i am sure that you are going to tell me different.
Have you actually done what the parable says to do?
Which is to clean out the mind and body in order to be able to understand knowledge that is unavailable to those who do not.

Why do you assume that people haven't? You do realize what is so ironic right? That many atheists are actually former Christians? Ones that DID follow that path. Ones that DID search. Study. Learn the bible, the parables, many better than the ones still on the path, and didn't find anything. In fact, that's why they are now atheists. They didn't find anything on that path that would cause them TO believe. Many did the searching and came up for naught. Concluding, instead, that there was nothing. More atheists come from "once were Christians" or "were raised in Christian homes" than "were raised atheists", you do realize that don't you? It's not like they are totally uninformed of the bible and its teachings. Just because someone doesn't believe does NOT mean they don't know enough or didn't try to understand it. As I have often pointed out, I would have to know enough of something in order to reject it.

Could be.

I expect nothing. I look for neither proofs nor disproofs.
But I don't search, because searching betrays desire to find, & that can cause one
to find things which aren't there. So I just observe....& sometimes carp about it.

Now i am sure that you are going to tell me different.
Sure?

Clean out the mind & body?
I don't know what that would entail.

None of what you said makes a bit of difference to what i just said.
sorry.

I am not talking about belief.
Which is all Christianity has to offer.
I'm talking about action.
If those that left Christianity would have done what that parable says to do they may have left apostate christianity but they would not have abandoned God.

Wait, atheists that were raised in Christian homes, or were once Christians but never really found real belief in "God", "have not abandoned God"? Are you saying they actually still believe in that god when they don't? What are you saying? They aren't really atheists? If they claim they have no belief in a god, Christian or any other, how do they have any loyalty to a god?

Religion is a spiritual.
How can one think that they could understand spiritual knowledge when they fill their body and mind with filth?

Atheists have obviously abandoned God.
God abandons no one.

You just said that the ones that left Christianity had not abandoned "God" though. Many atheists are those that leave Christianity. How do you figure that?

"Filth" is someone's judgement of others.
How do you know the spiritual approach (feelings & such) yields truth?

is truth plural?

That is a question for you to answer yourself, based on your interpretation of the word "truth."

For me, truth is understood as plural. This is because I don't consider truth and fact to be synonymous. Facts are singular, but truth is not. I see truth as how we interpret the facts to weave our stories of meaning and purpose. Or to put it in other terms, facts are like the territory, and truth is like the map of the territory. Different folks have different... aesthetic preferences so to speak, and prefer certain kinds of truths or stories over others.

What is required for respectful dialogue is for each of us to recognize that various maps have something useful to offer and something to learn from, even if we personally disagree with what it teaches. It's about appreciating differences and diversity and aiming to understand it instead of constantly getting caught up in this "my truth is more truthy than your truth" rubbish. At that point, it becomes about controlling other people and you're not doing any learning or understanding. It's just a bunch of shouting at each other and no dialogue. That may be fine and dandy for argumentative personality types, but it is not so much my cup of tea.

Discernment is not judgement.
One person's discernment is another's judgement.
The word "filth" is perhaps personal commentary on what is discerned.

I know what i know because of how i live my life.
I know what I know, & don't know what I don't know
because of what I observe & deduce therefrom.
Whose approach is better?

Can Atheists and Theists ever acknowledge each other?

Yes, they must acknowledge one another for peaceful co-existence.

The atheists are fine people if they adhere to reason as far as the reason should go reasonably, when they leave reason, they leave the only merit they chose for themselves.

The theists are honorable people, they should accept reality given to them by Revelation, and reality is not without reason and wisdom, it is never mythical.

Both sides should respect one another, even if they differ.

if theist could keep their belifs out of politics, science, schools and rights of others, their would be little issue with coexistence.
