Can God be Forgiven?

Lets assume that the God of the Bible finally reveals himself.

Would you as an atheist forgive God for demanding to be worshiped while at the same time making impossible to verify his existence.

Further more assuming you are judged by God and found unworthy because of your lack of faith, so get sent to hell, purgatory or just poofed out of existence. Would you be willing to forgive God?

Would you forgive God for the punishment you must now face?

Gotta have a reason to forgive, and I can't think of any. Got any suggestions?

Jesus said that God lets his Sun shine on the good and evil and lets his rain fall on the just and unjust. What punishment is that?

In my view it's we humans who carry around a mountain of guilt and look to blame either God or Satan or other people... until we see our own responsibility in life and act to ameliorate our guilt or improve the human condition not much progress is going to be made... so look to yourselves..and see what needs do'in!

Considering I'm functionally atheistic with respect to this particular god-concept...

For the first question, there's nothing to forgive.
For the second and third, I have a policy of not forgiving those who $#@% me over for my own protection. It reminds me to avoid sticking my hand on that hot plate in the future. Refusing to forgive, however, doesn't mean I'd waste my energy being angry over spilt milk, nor does it mean there could not be a positive relationship there. I'd be busy scheming with my fellow Witches to screw over this "god" with the help of my own gods. Muahahahaha! :D

I could, I am a very forgiving person. I could forgive him for hiding because now he has reveled himself and is no longer hiding.

Now this is too far, can't forgive him for doing this until he stops doing it. And if I am poof'd out of existence then how can I forgive anything?

Just got to thinkin'; if god is to be forgiven it would indicate he's done something wrong, and if he's done something wrong I wouldn't consider him worthy of the position as god. Now, maybe the ordinary believer doesn't care if his god goofs up now and then, but it would be a real deal breaker for me: a fallible god.

IMO to be the better uh... being.
Also I think it does more harm to one's self to hold onto resentment.

Silly me, I actually think my morals are better than those attributed to the biblical God. I'm sure that will go over well on judgement day.

Given that the god of the Bible makes belief in him a prerequisite for admission to eternal bliss and avoidance of eternal torture, his hiddenness from us is morally inexcusable. Forget atheists for the moment, and think about the billions of sincere seekers in Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. They want to believe in a god and they embrace a god (or even several) . . . but they get the wrong one. This is a straightforward disconfirmation of the Bible teaching "seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7). Source: "Seeing through Christianity"

Silly mortal, God will make you lamb skin.

Idk, I never ignorant enough to blame God or the Devil although I am a cynic.

Say my life sucks and my kids got bone cancer, thanks for the cool sunshine, O'Lord.

It's the Churches fault for making up such a ridiculous dogma and then beating Divine intervention into people.

The Super Natural is somewhere else. Take that into mind.

Isn't that pretty much already the situation between you and the biblical God?

No. What I purposed was based on the premise that god exists. The true situation between the two of us comes down to doubt; I have serious doubts that he exists.

If the bible is an accurate portrayal of this god, he's comitted worse atrocities than the best game of hide and seek ever.

This thread is a rather strange line of reasoning.
God says that creation alone is enough for any intelligent human being to verify his existence. Sending his son into the world was also proof enough of his concern for the human race.
Just because men explained him away to themselves, doesn't mean that God is to blame for their unbelief. They convinced themselves that he doesn't exist. He simply allowed them to have what they wanted.

What makes us think that we need to forgive God for anything? He offers everlasting life to all who accept that he exists and those who cherish the truth about him and his pupose for the earth and mankind upon it.

Humans are by and large a bunch of selfish complainers.....but God offers life to all of them. Live it the way God commands, or waste it...its up to us. We either get to keep it or lose it...all by our own choices.

I believe that the question should be "will God forgive us?" for giving up on him and being so easily led away from belief in him.

Imo, To give credence to this question would demonstrate that one does not truly understand Monotheism.
