From what I see many claim gender disorder is genetic. I believe it's mental simply because going by genetics, the easiest thing DNA can tell us about an individual is whether they are male or female.
The DNA will show male while the mind claims female and vise-versa.

The mental aspect of gender appears to have physical (brain) characteristics.
If these traits show up in children, it does point to genetics.

Something I could never understand was for example a transgender born female that identifies as a man, has a sex change then wants to be with men and is the female figure in the relationship. I guess I don't understand why not just stay female then.

Basically because it somehow feels right.

I guess I'm kinda an otherkin, even though I don't subscribe to the metaphysic beliefs that are associated with that subculture, nor do I identify with any specific creature.

Btw, that desire is a quite different feeling from gender disphoria. Comes from a different layer of the psyche it seems to me and also doesn't cause depression or anything. It's merely that my feeling of how my psyche is shaped differs from the shape of my body, and that it would be nice if I could shape my body accordingly, but without any urgency to actually do so.

And, a bit like how people who lost a limb still feel like it's there, I feel for example as if I had a tail. Might have to do with what some occultists call their astral body.

And well, I can hardly get a tail, so I gotta start with changes that are actually possible, among which tongue splitting should be among the most widespread, easiest and also most easily hideable ones.

Additionally, some who got their tongue split report it caused it to lengthen a bit and that it got overall more flexible, that would be a bonus.

I can only guess, but I would guess that this person is transgender in the sense of feeling better in a body of the opposite sex, but not in the sense of identifying with all the social roles associated with that sex.

From an article like that, one cannot tell whether this is his belief he's
really a dog, or if he just wants to be a dog, or if it's role playing.
It strikes me as being very different from transgender.

I don't know for sure, but I think it is fairly common for transpeople to not completely identify with the gender stereotypes of either sex. Not less common at least than for people who are not trans.

To me at least, being trans is about the physical characteristics and how one feels about those. One can act completely like the opposite sex without being trans, and vice versa.

Also, most transpeople are sexually attracted to the sex they identify with and not the one they were born as. So, that person mentioned would be typical in that regard.

DNA is just a roadmap, but the body often takes detours and those detours are just then factored into the route connection. Basically, we're born with a map of possibilities but which possibilities manifest (genes are activated) depends on our environment. Biological sex can't be reduced to just one thing because there's so many factors and variables.

Because they want to be with a man as a man, not as a woman. Or are you saying that only women can be attracted to men?
