Would you write:
Atlas was considered to be a god.
Atlas was considered to be a God.

Would you write:
Atlas was a god.
Atlas was a God.

Atlas was considered to be a god.
Atlas was considered to be God.

Atlas was a god.
Atlas was God.

If you drop the article 'a', 'god' becomes a proper noun.

The term “god” (noun, lower case) is used to refer to any god. Some gods are named “God” (proper noun, upper case). Atlas was not named God.

(And in any case, wasn’t Atlas a Titan, not a god?)

Since atheists don't believe in Satan, here is a challenge, that is simple.

Worship Satan as sincerely as you can. Then note if anything happens. If atheism is real, nothing should happen. If Satan is real, you might get an indication of that, via Spiritual awareness, etc, of such.

Shalom

I'm not sure sincerity is that easy to come by, but I suspect if it were possible then what you say about what the individual experiences is likely true.

I've have a number of religious experiences. What I experienced depended a lot on the belief I was involved in. So I suspect believing in some concept of Satan would alter those experiences but it would depend more on the concept of Satan I held than some external supernatural reality.

The subconscious mind, I believe has a lot of control over how we perceive reality. While we can't directly control the subconscious mind, we can influence it through belief, conviction etc...

I suspect atheism is the same. If a person sincerely believes in no Gods, their perception of reality will be affected by this as well.

We simply can't rely on perception alone to discern the truth. Well I suppose you can but it doesn't really guarantee anything.

In regards to the `proper name` "satan", once again. Why is it `proper`
satan was not a `God` or `Spirit` or Jesus, or Holy Ghost, or......etc.
It's just a word....I don't agree to it being `proper` as a name.
The `devil` or `satan` has no power, it's all imaginary,
a great big ball of crap !
Let see what Audie does with this post, can't wait.

But how can you worship something that one does not believe in, in the first place !

What is an "external supernatural reality"?
