Is it moral and the right thing to do, to allow a child that has gotten pregnant to give birth to a child?

Is children having children acceptable within your religion? Why or why not?

Do the Gods care whether or not Children are raped and forced to give birth in ways that may damage them for the rest of their lives?

This isn't about abortion. Only the actual morality of a child giving birth to, and subsequently having to raise its own child, as a child itself.

Speaking for myself, I find it morally reprehensible to allow suffering. Especially the suffering of children.
Pregnancy and birth is significantly draining on an adult’s body. So it would be far more dangerous for a child, particularly one that hasn’t finished physically developing yet.
All sorts of medical issues can arise and I’d imagine it could be quite traumatic for many.

I do not consider the atman (soul) to be infused in the fetus until birth. And even if it were, onto the next life it can go. (Not entirely sure what the morality of that is but oh well lol.)

If a child hadn't given birth, my husband wouldn't be here.

His mother wasn't raped, but impregnated by another child(she was 15, he was 13). Did she take good care of him? No, she treated him terribly, but he is thankful to be alive.

My niece wouldn't be here, if my sister hadn't gotten pregnant in high school(accidentally, but through consensual sex with someone of her own age). My sister took, and continues to take superb care of her(she's 13 now).

My friend wouldn't have her oldest daughter(she intentionally got pregnant at 15). It took her a year or two to fall into the parenting routine, but her grandfather helped her through it. That child is an adult now. My friend was able to pay for most of her first house.

My youngest sister gave her first child up for adoption, to a lesbian couple who weren't able to conceive on their own(not only because they were lesbians, but neither was able to carry a child due to medical reasons).

Not saying getting pregnant in youth is a great idea, but it happens. And not all the consequences are bad. I don't think any of these situations were immoral. The one who chose to get pregnant at 15 may not have made the best choice, but it isn't a regrettable one, as she has a beautiful daughter to show for it.

I'm of similar opinion, that the soul doesn't actually fuse in aggregate, until sometime after birth.

I don't disagree completely, as my mom conceived me at 16/17, and I was born when she was 17.

But. I also know that my life would have been much better and healthier to, if I were born later. Compared to the two children she had 12 years after the fact .

Edit: late teen years is safe-ish, for pregnancy and delivery. But under 12 like some of the 10 years olds being mentioned recently, are screwed; both child and parent will end up with many many problems.

You can conceive later, but each time a person is created, its a unique combination of cells..

Not saying its ideal to conceive young. It typically isn't. I just don't feel its immoral.

Fair enough. I do, only because I can't think of too many moral circumstances a 10-12 year old would be getting pregnant in.

Anyone remotely attempting to have sex that young, probably has a trauma history.

Here’s a hypothetical.
Say a girl at 12 falls pregnant. Through her own actions, she wasn’t coerced, simply a bit naive and didn’t use protection. Maybe she wasn’t taught how. Doesn’t matter.
Doctors check her over and declare her pregnancy likely to be excruciating. Even recommending abortion. (Of course the choice is hers and possibly her parents depending on the state law.)
Her body simply isn’t developed enough to handle a pregnancy healthily.
Would keeping the baby be morally right?
Would abortion be morally right?
Or is it a grey area entirely?
Just curious on your stance

(For the record, I don’t consider teenagers to be children. They are adolescents. Children getting pregnant as the OP suggested, I took to mean like 10 year olds.)

I think someone having that young having sex probably has some issues, yes. Once a person gets into high school, I think hormones start kicking in, though.

I had a friend whom that happened to(same age, even), except she was raped by a family member. Against the doctor's recommendations, she continued the pregnancy(with the intent of putting the baby up for adoption), only to miscarry later.

It would have been understandable if she'd aborted. However, that would be a choice she'd have to live with, and she couldn't. It was a terribly difficult situation. I didn't know her at that time, but I was in awe of both her bravery and compassion when she told me about it.

I don't think hardly anyone thinks 11 year olds should be having sex. At least I hope people still have that much common sense. Which is why stable families and parents teaching morality are important.

Good for her. Too bad that it did not work out as she would have liked. But this shows that the important thing is that it should be the woman's choice. Either way. one of things that I do not like about the government banning abortions is that a government that bans them could also force them on someone. They are just two sides of the same coin.

That’s indeed unfortunate. And my heart goes out to her
But if she chose to abort, would you consider that immoral, moral or neutral?

Because I knew a girl in a similar position who aborted, at the doctor’s suggestion. I don’t think she needed to tell her parents. Though she was like 16, there was something wrong with the fetus. Medically speaking.

I'm not sure I feel the terms moral, immoral, or neutral apply. (I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, really!)

Just people(like your friend, too) who are doing what they feel they have to in very difficult situations...

Not everything has to be moral or immoral, really.
It’s more of an Abrahamic thing, if I’m being honest.
For “us” it’s more about Dharma. Sometimes abortion is Adharmic, sometimes it’s Dharmic and sometimes it’s just a medically necessary decision.

The options are 1) murder (wilfully take a life 2) hope for the best :D accepting what comes.
For my religion - Jehovah's Witnesses, option 1 is not even considered

Next. This would be argued for.
g80 5/22 pp. 14-15 Abortion: What the Professionals Say
In a dramatic about-face, today Planned Parenthood promotes abortion as a means of population control. It also sponsored the case that resulted in the Supreme Court’s decision permitting a minor to abort without her parents’ consent. Its former statement, “An abortion kills the life of a baby,” no longer appears in its literature. However, that truth does appear in an editorial in the September 1970 California Medical Journal:
“The reverence of each and every human life has been the keystone of western medicine, and is the ethic which has caused physicians to try to preserve, protect, repair, prolong, and enhance every human life. Since the old ethic has not been fully displaced, it has been necessary to separate the idea of abortion from the idea of killing which continues to be socially abhorrent. The result has been the curious avoidance of the scientific fact, which everyone knows, that human life begins at conception, and is continuous, whether intra- or extra-uterine, until death.”

w81 10/15 pp. 18-19 par. 13 Pleasing Jehovah as a Family
Some governmental laws actually serve as an encouragement for young women to engage in loose conduct by providing for abortions without parental consent. One 15-year-old girl pointed out that a doctor had refused to pierce her ears without parental permission but that the Supreme Court of the United States had ruled that a minor girl may have an abortion without permission from her parents: Recently one doctor, writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association about efforts to broaden advertising of contraceptives, declared: “I am appalled at the willingness of medical professionals to accept promiscuous sexual conduct—and even to promote it. . . . I believe we should invest some of our resources in learning to promote responsible and healthy sexual practices, including abstinence and fidelity.”

What basis would we have then for denying that after compromising. That would be double standard, I think.
A person might even argue, 'Well it's okay to steal if you are starving'.

An earthquake can destroy an entire town and take lives.
The government may incarcerate a group of peaceful people .. even torturing some, or worst. etc.

We deal with calamitous situations as they come, but never compromising Bible principles.

Lina Medina as a 5.64-year-old gave birth to Gerardo Medina in Lima, Peru on May 14, 1939. Lina Medina's father was suspected but never proven to have impregnated his then younger than five-year-old daughter. Lina Medina is now 88 years old, but she still refuses to speak with the media regarding who impregnated her before she was age five. Lina Medina married at age 33 and at age 39 gave birth to her second son. Lina's first-born son died in 1979 at age 40.

I consider incest to be immoral, but find nothing immoral per se about pubescent females reproducing offspring,

The southern states have the lowest age for marriage in the US. Maybe they like diddling children. They say Mary in the Bible may have been 14. Woo hoo!
