In comparison to the other pics it was fairly obvious.....but don't get me wrong...I have no idea what the artworks is supposed to "actually" represent. I so no reason why it could be a representation of a cockpit but I have no "evidence" to substantiate my assertion. Programs such as (Ancient Aliens) are intriguing but not proof positive.

I posted that before you posted the other pics.

I don't like "Ancient Aliens" because it's intellectually lazy in the extreme.

I'm really disappointed about that.

I used to love the History channel. Now at least 3/4ths of its programming is absolute crap like Ancient Aliens, making it difficult to even channel surf to H every once in a while.

The best program now is Pawn Stars. And that's heartbreaking.

For me, Discovery and NatGeo have filled the void.

No, I agree with you. I'm familiar with the small gold piece you're talking about but I was adding the carvings in the temple too.

I think you were referring to this one;

flyingobjects22_02a1.jpg

It really does look like a ship and it really does look like someone is sitting in the cockpit. It really does look like boots and the outline of a body.

Or maybe this one;

To me this hardly looks like a stingray and more like an airplane. I'm not saying with any amount of certainty that any of these or those depicted in that program are from alien visitors but during a brief moment in our history these objects were depicted in artwork, carvings and sculptures.

The second photo...and thank you.
(I'm not the one who thought it looked like a stingray btw)

Did you see the program?...the one in which the model was made to fly?

Point is...where did the idea come from?

No problem. Yea, I was just pointing it out because the statement had been made in general. (not by you though :))

Yea, I thought it was impressive.

Point is...where did the idea come from?

Now is a good question. I have an idea but no evidence.. :D

I think we may be slightly off topic (partly my fault)..Sorry. I think the ET related comments may be more suited to this thread (http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/religious-debates/114257-ufos-christianity.html).

Yes it is off topic

waitasec is generous with her threads.

Me I like the gold pin, it has two eyes, tail fin, the stinger in the tail and the same wings as a stingray ,,,,, and found with a fish pin ,,,,,,,,,Its definately a alien craft lol :)

Nothing about the various ones I've seen bring me to the conclusion they appear to look like a stingray. To me they all appear to look like airplanes.

except for a small clue you might be missing

if you knew more about ancient marine cultures there is a symbol on almost every piece that means water.

the spiral lines on both of the above are ancient symbols for water found in many ancient civilizations.

I might add, why would aliens fly airplanes. ????

are they not seen in hubcap looking vehicles most of the time???

why has no one ever reported aliens in a airplane looking craft???

anyway the point is, the pendants have eyes, tails, fins and were found with fish pins.

not one valid archeologist follows the misinfornmation of ancient aliens

I'm not saying I buy into the ancient alien hypothesis but what I'm saying is their appearance is airplane like. If anything I can concede it appears fish like but it doesn't look like a stingray. The tail, to me, says otherwise. Now if it were said to look like a shark....then heck yea.

They still look like planes to me. I get what you're saying about the swirls but actually they look like the vortex field over a delta wing (Wings at High Angles of Attack, Vortex lift - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, http://www.zhouji.net/prof/deltawing.pdf). I'm just saying. The four knots on the one picture I showed doesn't seem to be present on any stingray or fish I've ever seen but looks like what one might see on a plane like craft. As far as what an alien would fly, well no one has evidence of what one would actually be flying in.....:D, additionally the swirls on the wings made me think of Nike. I've seen the symbol on a plane a few years ago. I remembered it because it made me think about the symbol for Pierre Cardin. Here's the plane that has the symbol (Plane engine | Flickr - Photo Sharing!).

Shucks, I don't know....maybe ancient people saw something like this and expressed it in their artwork trying to depict what they saw the best way they could.

Commercial airplane wake turbulence | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

But after going back and looking at the other artifacts that were collected with these they do seem to be a representation of a fish....

I cant find the thread but this was hacked out in detail in the paranormal thread.

they posted a local stingray or mantray that fit the pendant to a tee.

the fish also came from the exact seaside town as the pendant and had a sharks tale

Wickedness in the World
1 When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.

hold on…angels having sex with humans?
as in spiritual beings having sexual desires without a physical body, really? ok.
curious, were the daughters of god attracted to the sons of humans?

3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with[a] humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

wait a minute. god is competing with humans? so what is 120 years compared to an eternity of being?

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. 5 The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

so i guess the nephilim died out...but how and why?
and besides, wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity to introduce jesus to the sinful world instead of getting rid of god's failure?

oh yes but of course, god noticed a small tiny piece of real estate which he thought would be just perfect for noah's decedents via shem's offspring...

i wonder though, after the water receded...the human carnage must have caused an awful smell... not to mention... disease.

6 The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the LORD said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

i'm curious as to what the purpose was for wiping out the entire human race (except of course noah and company), even though every inclination of the human heart will still be evil after the flood?

if you take this story as literal, what are your thoughts?

taking this even more off topic... this just came to mind.
did you ever hear how the legend of the cyclops might have come about?

"Skulls of Deinotherium giganteum found at other sites show it to be more primitive, and the bulk a lot more vast, than today's elephant, with an extremely large nasal opening in the center of the skull.

To paleontologists today, the large hole in the center of the skull suggests a pronounced trunk. To the ancient Greeks, Deinotherium skulls could well be the foundation for their tales of the fearsome one-eyed Cyclops."
