Christians: Why aren't you Muslim?

What a useless assertation when Islam quite effectively displaced Paganism, Christianity, Judaism, and Hinduism throughout the ages.
No it didn't. Xy, paganism, Hinduism and Judaism are doing quite well, thank you.

So you were raised Muslim in a Muslim family?
No, I was not raised a Muslim, I inherited a culture.

But does not take into account the wars of conquest in which Islam conquered a huge swath of the world, and imposed Jiziyah on infidels.
Just a quick check how many Muslims did you see in England?

But how then do you explain the crucifixion? What was the point in Jesus' death if it were not to be the ultimate sacrifice? God could have easily declared us free from sin, and not have to sacrifice his Son.
If Jesus was fully human, it only stands to reason that he would die the same as anyone else who upset the status quo in that time period.

What kind of culture did you inherit, Bismillah, Hindu, Jewish, Christian or Muslim?
There is no such thing as a "Muslim" culture, I was raised a Pakistani which had some Islamic aspects mixed in however I believe you were asking me my religion, not what I ate or how I dress.

There are thousands of Muslim immigrants in England, and all over Europe.
Ah, during the Enlightenment too? What about before that?

It's a simple question. A one-word answer would do. I'm not asking how devout your parents were. All I'm asking is, what was their religion? Here are some choices:
Christian
Muslim
Atheist
Jewish
Hindu.

Number of Muslims in England before the 17th century? I don't really know. I'll guess...not many? Why do you ask?

Would you please tell me the five things that make a person a Muslim? Thanks.

You mean nonexistent and put to death if found out?

Not in their birthplaces apparently.
Xy was birthed in Israel. Last time I checked, Israel was not a muslim country. There's a Star of David on their flag -- not a crescent moon. Paganism had a large presence in Greece, which is now Xian -- not Muslim. Israel is the birthplace of Judaism. Israel is still predominantly Jewish.

anything else?

Bull crap! You're creating smoke screens.

Which is why the capital is named "Islamabad..."
however I believe you were asking me my religion, not what I ate or how I dress.
religion is a cultural expression. Another smoke screen.

Hmmm... like Xians in many Islamic countries today. What's your point? Nations predominantly Xian stopped persecuting Muslims long ago. What's the excuse of predominantly Islamic countries in the 21st century?

Wow, use whatever definition you like, Bismillah. I had no idea this was such a complicated question. I'm sorry I brought it up. Apparently it's a sensitive subject for you. If you don't want to tell us what religion your parents were, you don't have to. I see you were raised in a Muslim country. And I see that you're a Muslim. Do you think there's any causal relationship between those two facts?

You mean nonexistent and put to death if found out?
I"m sure I don't know. What does it have to do with this thread? You've lost me.

Yes, and for some unfathomable reason you brought up culture. All I asked, and really I thought it was a pretty simple question, is what religion your parents were.

Ah that's right, modern history of the arrival of European Jews and the exodus of its inhabitants creates a larger Jewish presence, however it is basic knowledge that there are more Palestinians (even if they are displaced refugees). Rather it is amusing that you would go to such great lengths to try and ignore that the greater Middle East was the origins for Christianity and Judaism or that Paganism was effectively wiped out.

Bull crap? You should try and contain yourself, as I've debated before Islam was a rejection of Arab culture and is largely devoid of any such definitions. It can be adopted to any culture as it is a universal message.

Which is why the capital is named "Islamabad..."
Are you some type of fool to think that Pakistani culture equates with being a Muslim? Does me eating tandoori and naan make me a better Muslim? Stop with these ridiculous comparisons before you educate yourself.

religion is a cultural expression. Another smoke screen.
I don't know about Christianity, but Islam is not and can be found throughout cultures around the world.

Hmmm... like Xians in many Islamic countries today. What's your point? Nations predominantly Xian stopped persecuting Muslims long ago. What's the excuse of predominantly Islamic countries in the 21st century?
Long ago? Like 200 years ago? I suppose Colonialism and genocide doesn't count. And I supposes the rejection of overt oppression with the modern day oppression is just a likely transition.

I'm sorry, usually when someone uses a word they understand its definition I know that you don't. Let me explain, being a Muslim entails certain obligations such as obligatory prayers.

I"m sure I don't know. What does it have to do with this thread? You've lost me.
It has to do with the fact that while you can complain about taxes levied on non-Muslims throughout history I can complain about the utter purging of Muslims in European lands.

Yes, and for some unfathomable reason you brought up culture. All I asked, and really I thought it was a pretty simple question, is what religion your parents were.
Unfathomable? Really? I stated that I inherited a culture, not a religion as you can not inherit a religion despite whatever delusions you may hold to the contrary.

Yay secularism!
Yeah the West is much more humane now.

You mean iffy? If so then no it's not, it's documented history.
