Christless Christianity

I surely believe in the historical Christian Faith which can be summarized by Christ and Him crucified for the ungodly to bring them to God. I think contemporary Christianity has loss sight of the centrality and heart of the Christian Faith.

So you refuse to take responsibility for your failure.

We are not supposed to worship Jesus Himself, but God. Yes, I believe that Jesus is God- I always have, but He gave up His divinity as a human on Earth. Therefore, we are supposed to worship God, not Jesus.

I see it embossed on cheap pencils and pens and other bric-a-brac all the time...

The Christian marketplace is a million dollar industry. Can you find good books about the person and work of Jesus Christ in the Christian bookstore in the mall? The self help section in the Christian store is quite a large section with many best sellers. T-shirts, Christian bumper stickers, and Christian fish car symbols sell very well too.

I guess you have to give me your understanding of what or who is a Christian before I can answer your question. We all know that not all who call Jesus Lord is united to Christ according to Jesus Himself. A union with Christ is a spiritual reality.

Duck walks into a bar and says "Gotta beer?"

Barkeep says "We don't serve your kind, get outta here!"

Duck walks in the next day and says "Gotta beer?"

Barkeep says "Get outta here or I'm gunna staple your bill to the floor!!:

Duck walks in the third day and says "Gotta stapler?"

"NO!!!"

"Gotta beer?"

That's interesting Christine. I've never heard of a Christian that doesn't worship Jesus.

Thomas worshipped Jesus and Jesus did not rebuke Thomas for worshipping Him. Do you not see Jesus as in the godhead, worthy of your worship? Why do you think Jesus gave up his divinity, or can God stop being God at any point in history?

Let me ask you a question: When you pray, do you pray to Jesus or do you pray to God (or both, since in a lot of Christian faiths, they are one and the same as of now- including myself).

If I put it that way, then I suppose I do worship Jesus, after all.

Please explain about what you mean by responsibility. Are you implying that I have to atone for my own sins?

By no means!

Instead of realizing the lack of depth in your own theological understanding, you're seperating yourself from "contemporary Christianity," and forgoing apologetics with polemic.
