Circumcision should be banned

I've given up. I can't find peered reviewed sources to support my argument. I'll just go with: I don't think it's a big deal either way.

I agree. to me the question of foreskin never rose. in my world a circumcised penis is natural. I don't think I have actually seen in real life an uncircumcised penis, because all the guys in public showers where I've lived most of my life, whether if its in the service, camping, public pools were circumcised.
I'll openly admit when asked that from pictures I've seen (Ah, medical text books? ;) obviously not from Anat's Sex World! no no no.) seem repulsive to me.
but I have never, EVER said that to any uncircumcised person in 'real life' or over the internet. so, if someone decides to question my norms and naturalism and degrade them, I'm sure as hell going to make him feel degraded.

I think that is normal, to see something that should look one way to you but suddenly looks different. I don't remember how old I was when I first heard about circumcision. It was weird! And when I first saw pics I got the same repulsion that you experienced. It was just so ugly and unnatural, lol. But then I got into a relationship with a circumcised man, became accustomed and came to like it.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I don't see the big deal either way, frankly.

My pediatrician gave me good advice when I was pregnant with my first of two boys. He told me "If the dad's circumcised, circumcise the son - it makes things easier to explain. In other words, like father like son."

Now - that's not clinical or backed by any studies, but it makes sense to me from simply a family perspective.

As a woman with some experience in these things, let me just say (without going into too much detail!) that it matters not to me - it all boils down to the cleanliness of an individual. Honestly - it's simply not that hard to keep, err, things clean, people!

As for aesthetics - I guess I can see why guys would be so opinionated about this, but...most women I know don't seem put off either way. Maybe if they are NOT familiar with one "style" or the other they are, but once....introduced...it seems to make very little, if any, difference to the WOMAN.

Can't speak for men when it comes to experience. All I know is that circumcised or uncircumcised, men seem be quite proud of their equipment, and quite happy when attention is paid to it!

Circumcision is mutilation...and children should not be mutilated...adults can mutilate themselves if they wish...they have the mental capacity to choose.

If I was in power I would imprison anyone who forces a child to be circumcised...for a long time.

Parents are going to do it whether it is against the law or not. This has be proven in many countries around the world. Laws made to make it impossible and, yet, many parents still found a way to have it done.
It is a religious obligation to many. What gives you the right to infringe on it?

How many men here who are completely against circumcision have been circumcised themselves?

You think I care about religious obligations?

I do not...mutilation is mutilation...such parents should be punished.

In fact I find religious excuses particularly vexing.

I will infringe on what I like...always.

I am jumping in, having not read the previous pages - but, I feel that it should be something that each person has a right to decide for themselves. If a person wants to be circumcised then they can do that at any stage in their life, it doesn't need to be done to a baby who has no say in the matter.

Precisely Nerthus.

There are a lot of things done to a baby that is not done with their consent. They get poked and prodded the minute they are born. Should we tell the doctors , "No. those kids didn't give consent."
Those needles are just as painful as anything done to them, and just as emotionally damaging.

Ridiculous...immunising children from disease is not the same as mutilating their penises.

There is no scientific need to circumcise boys...it is purely a religious abomination.

I had my injections for health reasons as a baby, yes. I don't remember having them, but my body remained intact.

To argue that health reasons and religious reasons are the same, is crazy.
