Citing staffing issues and political climate, North Idaho hospital will no longer deliver babies.

Fascism that wears a suit of Christian Nationalism, and too many people who believe in the powers of positive thinking and the myth of sustained and inevitable moral progress.
I fear us as well.
“When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a Bible”

Hard to dispute that quote these days, I must say

And hold it like he's selling a product on an infomercial and talks about it like he's not really heard much about it.
Honestly?
A lifetime of watching your evangelical preachers (usually through the lens of Atheists mocking them)
It really baffles me that Americans seemingly just shrug at such occurrences.
Maybe it’s due to my upbringing (various teachers always around me) but seeing the rhetoric I saw, even back in the 90s, I would have called that fascist. Ngl

I feel the same way about our Hillsong church here. I’d vote against them without thinking about it

Well, Bush Sr. did kind of do a Cold War victory lap in Iraq while showing off the new toys.

I vaguely remember that actually
Huh
I wasn't a little kid when it happened, but it was still shocking that the country was at war, and the images on TV were of violence no one really should be exposed to.
And these decades later it's just a fact of life that America in militarily involved somewhere and bombing someone. Kind of like how at some point during the 90's I ceased by shocked by school shootings, probably after Jonesboro Middle School (this was before Columbine) given how the kids pulled the fire alarm and then hid in some trees in the distance to ambush their school and fire upon on their teachers and peers as they rushed out of the building.

What a bunch of nonsense. The hospital closed its pediatrics due to declining birthrates, a widespread phenomenon. It wasn't due to Idaho abortion laws. That is a red herring.

Healthcare is not business.
It is not a profitable matter.
It is something very, very, very, very serious involving people's lives and only the State, the Supreme, divine principle narrated by Kant and Montesquieu can manage it.
Not privates.

Unfortunately it is in the US
They don’t have universal healthcare like we do

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
With many rural hospitals closing their doors, don't think this type of thing is a one-off.
Doctors and other health professionals have been quitting since Obamacare.

That's how I lost my doctor.

Other people , as well as myself just have to adapt.

It's the fact that proper care sometimes involves abortion and Reps keep lowering the threshold for what is illegal. Also administering gender dysphoria for minors and in some states adults. Vaccines are also making their way their, as are some methods of birth control.
Even treatment for other maladies can involve drugs
associated with abortion. One can't predict whether
prosecution or civil suits will dog one, trying to ruin
one's life. We're seeing the balkanization of states
in our republic.

We've seen government provided health care
having its own set of problems too. You're a
socialist, wanting government to control all.
I'd rather not put all the eggs in one basket.

Still better than yours
Best healthcare system in the world with actual lower outcomes overall?
Seriously?
What’s the old joke?
If Breaking Bad happened in any other civilised country, it would be a slice of life drama about a man getting cancer treatment?
It’s no good having the best healthcare system in the world if no one can actually afford to use it
Like come on

It's not a nothing burger for those who have to travel over an hour away if they go into labor, all due to freedoms being stripped away by your beloved theocrats.
It's strange how you're willing to trade away people's rights and liberty for the sake of religious superstition you don't even believe in.
Strange indeed, coming from one who speaks so often about "freedom."
